If 35m is accurate we'd be fools not to try

Enough said.

Either way, by the sounds of it we can barely afford to buy the players we need let alone make punts.

We could really do with hitting big with a few players from the academy over the next couple years.

Cf. Curtis Jones.

I think our collective emotional investment in him multiplied about tenfold down the stretch of last season and into this transfer window.

How much of that is his ability and how much of that is our desperation

Why are we not looking at Sofyan Amrabat ?... Looked very sharp in the World Cup and would make a very good replacement for Fab'

We probably are but he’s older than we’d like and reportedly wants to go somewhere warm to play.

A little bit of column A, a little bit of column B.

I'd all but given up on him until he became our best player unexpectedly down the stretch. Now he is the Messiah, given our inability to buy a new one.

Still no news regarding Hendo, Fabs, but wtf is going on with Nat?

Same old shit.

2 weeks of nothing and for the latter 2 years of nothing.....turns out, no one really wants utter shite at their clubs...not even the Saudi's 😀 😀

According to the Athletic big Jorg is working off a laptop and a phone at his home in Ibiza.
I'm not saying he's the reason for the lack of activity but the whole arrangement is ridiculous given the importance of this transfer window.

The fact that we're in this position at all is ridiculous.

And breathe....

We have made two really good signings, then the cart was properly up sided, so I think we have to be a bit patient.

If Mbappe goes to Saudi then PSG will start spending like absolutly crazy, again. The market will be even more fucked.

Do you think he will go?

It seems to me that’s the only club or bunch of clubs who can afford his outrageous wages (unless Madrid city government purchases Real Madrid’s training ground again.) But, as somebody said in another thread, that would also mean saying goodbye to genuine top level football. Will his ego allow that?

Surely if someone is paying you 700m a year, the decision is already made for you?

And what if he likes it in Saudi so much he decides to stay longer than a year?

Its only for 1 year though.
