Yeah we did make a profit on Aldo but he had 2 very good season before he was sold.
The point I was trying to make is that I don't think Kenny has a lot of sympathy regarding who stays or goes.
Oh and not a chance we could get even close to getting the money back for Hendo,Carroll or Downing.

For some reason I'm still holding out hoping that Carroll will become Alan shearer (without the pace obviously) and we get value in this deal

For me Downing is the big one. If we keep him around, it's a statement of intent that we're willing to be patient with players who will NEVER make the grade. Patience is one thing but it has to be placed in the right players. 0 Assists 0 Goals. Is this a PL first?

Seeing as the 'Transfer Gossip' thread has been locked i'll chuck this in here. A good few of these have been mentioned in the other thread and i'm not saying we should be after all of them but i'm throwing the names out there of some quality outcasts roaming about who haven't played alot this season or their parent club no longer want them. With some of the players I'm not sure whether an injury has contributed to their limited number of appearances this season or if they are no longer wanted.
