Suarez > Torres (at his peak)

I should have thought of Torres in my question above. But then again, it could be that Torres is past his peak.
Could be, and I think it is, however he doesnt even show similar movement to how he used to be.

Was that spell of being unplayable the form, or the class?

Class. My guess is that he finds it harder to reproduce that form more frequently now.

But when does an inability to find form (which it has been since 3 years ago now!), become the normal level of performance?

When was his last difficult finish? Flash of genius?

Perhaps he's more Juan Pablo angel than RVP

Why I oughta...

I havent been watching him recently so I am not sure.

When I say he's past his peak, I meant he's unable to reproduce his class more frequently than before. He's a class player, only class players are able to do things that he did when he played for us. An average or good player would not have been able to play he did even if he was in top form.

P.S I like the way you can be discuss serious stuff with me (relatively) and banter the fuck out of it with themn,

In all seriousness, torres I'd obviously a good player, but he had a lot of indifferent games for us where his head dropped. Perhaps the wonder finishes were his form, but the average games/finishes were the class

Rubbish, Torres created a lot of goals on his own. Chelsea, Blackburn, Marseille off the top of my head, to suggest Torres just scored goals that other put on a plate for him is nonsense. Torres in those 18-24months was one of the best players I have ever seen, only Messi and Ronaldo have eclipsed him in the last five years in my eyes.

Indeed. Incredible how we are so willing to forget how insanely good he was for us then. The bounce didn't begin for no reason. He was our absolute idol because he was incredible and with him on the pitch we always had a chance however wretchedly we might be playing as a team.
Suarez is a different type of player who is also reaching the same level of brilliance week in and week out. We should make the most of him before he fucks off somewhere he can earn more and challenge more.

That Torres vid shows how incredibly good he was. I forgot just how many headers he scored. He certainly wasn't the master of the tap-in either. I remember he seemed to miss a fair few comparative sitters and then score a fucking screamer.

He definitely did get a goodly number served up by SG and Kuyt in particular.

Has to be Suarez. Much more consistent, not reliant on players around him, and creates more out of nothing than Torres. Confidence level higher, and work ethic stronger. I can;t see him sulking for a year on the pitch, if the club wasn't giving him all he wanted.

Watching all those goals just made me sad. What a player and to me it's impossible to compare the two.

Personally, I think this is a shit thread. Comparing Suarez and Torres is about as clever as a colourblind person on a rubiks cube. They're two completely different players.

If pushed I'd go for Torres. I love Suarez but there is a reason that every single Liverpool fan was totally gay for Torres for about 2 years. I'll never forget that first goal against Chelsea. Everyone was like "I. Can't. Believe. A. Liverpool. Striker. Just. Did. That".

It is very unfair on Suarez though. He's playing in a far worse team at a time when apathy is seemingly at an all time high. Plus we're all cynical n shit after the Torres hurt. If things were reversed so might the answer.

Yes, Suarez is producing in a lesser team, hmm. But yes, that first goal against Chelsea - I'd forgot what it was like to have a real striker again. When Mickey O left, we were without till he arrived in 2007. That's 3 years!

We've had Fowler, Owen, Torress and now Suarez and never managed to win the Prem. We've had some great great forwards.

Mind boggeling.
