I hope mate. Not the gushing geysers and diamond cutting mind, just the euphoric release at the end.

Fuck it, may as well get ready. I'm getting on and Monday isn't that far away.

The Independent saying Ajax rejected a £17m bid yesterday.

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

Simply. Walk. Away.

Walk on...

We have no hope for the title. We are simply trying to avoid relegation while Europa Cup next year maybe a bonus...

Summer we will have more choices at lower cost.

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

Bloody hell, this must be the longest transfer thread ever, 100 pages long and he ain't even here yet. I reckon it'll get to page 108 when he's a confirmed signing

Despite MC's report.

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

Right, I'm off to football training.

I'll check back in on this thread afterwards and I tells ya - I expect to see one of two things:

1 - Pictures of Suarez boarding an easyjet flight leaving Amsterdam heading to John Lennon, LFC scarf draped around his neck and proclaiming to be a "boyhood Liverpool fan" to some Sky Sports News reporter.

2 - Pictures of Mark Mc's head on a plate.

I'd like to take this time to congratulate the posters for this thread. Truly a majestic job. it seems like a lifetime ago I ended a page with"babels gone" and started the next with "only joking"

Ahhh ryan......

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

I made it on page 100 if we reject chelsea's offer for Torres then we must show him we are a club with ambition by buying at least one world class big signing this window plus a Charlie Adam's Apple to spice things up .

Suarez talks continue
But de Boer remains hopeful striker will stay

By Graeme Bailey - Follow me on Twitter @graemebailey Last updated: 28th January 2011

Liverpool and Ajax are continuing talks over Luis Suarez, but as yet a deal is still far from being done.

As Ajax sealed a 4-1 Dutch Cup victory over NAC Breda on Thursday evening the club's hierarchy were continuing to meet with their counterparts from Merseyside.

But after another round of discussions the two club appear no nearer to reaching a deal for the Uruguay international striker.

Ajax are reported to have dropped their price to around €25million, but Liverpool still look a long way from that mark with English reports claiming their latest offer was €20million.

Speaking after the game, Ajax coach Frank de Boer made a plea over his star striker.

Suarez is now eligible to play following his lengthy suspension for biting an opponent, and de Boer is hopeful of using him this weekend when they again come up against NAC.

"From the bottom of my heart, I hope on Sunday for our next match with NAC that I can call on him," de Boer told Dutch television.

"Liverpool know what they have to pay, if they do it by the weekend then we will have time to take action."

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

Settle at £20m, they get a lot of dosh, we drive a hard bargain and regain some credibility, everyones happy.

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

Excellent article. No nearer to reaching a deal when the difference in valuation has dropped from €15m to just €5m.

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

Frank De Boer is a fucking hypocrite. He fucked over Ajax big time to move to Barcelona - getting a recently signed 6 year contract voided due to a verbal agreement supposedly in place with Ajax. Now he's being all precious and holding Suarez to ransom. Laughable

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

It's their prerogative to put whatever price they want on their player. If we lose out because of it it's down to no-one but us.

And the difference in vauation is equal to one Poulson unit.

Which is neglible

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

Yeah, that's the point. But it's our job to match it. They don't have to drop their kecks just coz we've got our dick out.

Re: Suarez paves the way for Anfield switch as Babel nears the exit door

I think we are in a win win situation here anyway, if we sign him then great we will have been seen to haggle and have at the same time strengthened the team. If we don't sign him then no problem the team have been told that they have the support of Kenny and that cavalry will be arriving in Summer at a better price.... no go out and play like you mean like last week and the week before.

One lesson i've learnt from the GnH debacle is that sitting around moaning about it and worrying does not make it better, this is going to be long haul either way and the team look full of spirit at the minute so... no rush and no need to be held over a barrel for a player.

We can finish 7th without buying anyone new!
