Suarez open to contract talks - press twist words

Hahahaha really!? I was wondering if anybody had managed to get a stat for it. Outrageous. I do it about once every 2 years.

Apperantly Lewandowski is close to signing for Bayern München.
Good for our mental health this summer if true

Suarez strikes me as the type who likes to be settled and doesnt like jumping from Club to Club every few seasons.

That's not to say i'm 100% confident he'll still be a Liverpool player next season but i dont see any reason why he wont be.

Quizzed about his future at Anfield, Suarez left little doubt about his passion for the Reds and happiness with life on Merseyside.

I hate quiz. It often seem like the logic answer, and still proves wrong.

I love this guy more than Torres at his peak. There I said it. Absolutely amazing player with the best mentality. And unlike Torres can understand if he moves on. Currently far to good for us

If only the press would accept it, they won't , we will have the usual Suarez to Chelsea , City , Barca Madrid etc etc.
But I for one accept him at his word, i hope this does not come back to bite me, but I think he does think and feel like that , he loves to be loved .
I changed my mind a few weeks ago on the idea of him being skipper, he is the outstanding candidate.

Regards

Welcome aboard, Vlad.

Agree, and when he *is* loved - as he was at Ajax, certainly by the fans - he responds. We need to keep making progress towards a top four spot, so he doesn't start worrying about his career overall, but as long as we do that I think he'll give this club every chance to match his ambitions.

Ajax are successful, and they loved him, so why did he leave?

Gerry, you'll notice I qualified my reference to Ajax in my post by saying "certainly by the fans". There was some question that Suarez felt the management of the club, as distinct from the fans themselves, didn't fully support him during his disciplinary problems over there, which is one reason why I'm convinced the way LFC supported him over the Evra stitch-up (however iffy in purely PR terms) is key to why he's still with us.

I'd hope we wouldn't back him if he was guilty of biting someone too.

When I was still working and responsible for staff, I'd support them to the hilt in the face of any outside criticism or complaint. If I had a problem with what they'd done, I dealt with it behind closed doors. If necessary, I would then be the one to contact the complainant and apologise. They had a problem, they dealt with me, not with my juniors.

Which is fair enough in most cases.

But there are actions that cross a line, that need to be publicly denounced.

They need to be clamped down on, yes, but I take issue with "publicly". For my money all a club should publicly say in such cases is "This matter will be dealt with in-house."

If he were taller, he would make a proper old school, completely fucking insane goalie. Biting the defenders for betraying him and all that.

What happened to those goalies anyway. They're all so reasonable nowadays.

I knew it was too good to be true.....

'We're not the Liverpool of old': Suarez raises fresh doubts over his Anfield future

Luis Suarez has admitted he will wait until the summer to decide on his future.
And despite professing his love for Anfield, the Liverpool striker hinted he may look to move on if the club fails to qualify for the Champions' League.
Suarez is on the radar of Spanish giants Real Madrid and the Old Lady of Italy, Juventus, with both clubs certain to make moves for the brilliant 25 year old at the end of the season, while Bayern Munich are also reported to be keen.
For now, the Uruguay international insists he and his family are happy on Merseyside, but when asked by Spanish radio station Marca if they should "talk about his future again in June," Suarez stated bluntly: "Yes, we should talk this June or the next one, in 2014. My contract ends in 2018.
"My family is very happy here and I'm living a dream: playing for a club that every kid wants to play for. So we're content, for now."
For Suarez though, the Champions League is a driving inspiration, and if Liverpool fail to qualify for the competition next season, then he would be faced with a real dilemma should Madrid come calling in the summer.
The striker said as much in his interview with Spanish media before the friendly game in Qatar between the World Champions and Uruguay, when he admitted the lure of the Champions League is great.

Please don't go: Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to keep Suarez
Andrew Powell
Previously, he had stated his intention to stay at Anfield beyond the end of the current campaign, but skipper Steven Gerrard has raised fears about the forward's future if the Reds don't reach the top four.
Suarez explained: "We will see at the end of the season what Liverpool's position is - we're not the Liverpool of old. We're coming out of a rough patch, but this is a transition period with a new gaffer and a different philosophy.
"The players enjoy how the manager wants us to play. All we need are the results and to finish in the Champions League spots.
"We would like to qualify for the Champions League if possible. We are young and growing as a team and when the players mature, we will be stronger."
While Liverpool face a fight to keep Suarez in the summer, they could be forced to fend off a bid right now for their centre half Martin Skrtel from Europa League rivals Zenit St Petersburg.
Reports in Russia suggest the moneybags side have prepared a £12million bid to take the defender back to the club, and with the country's transfer window open until February 27, they are ready to test Liverpool's resolve to keep him.

Wanted: Will the Reds have to fend off bids for Martin Skrtel as well?
The Reds paid Zenit £6.5million for the Slovakia international back in 2008, but Skrtel has recently lost his place to Jamie Carragher, after a poor run of form this season.
Fellow Russian league club Anzhi have also expressed an interest in Skrtel as a possible replacement for Christopher Samba, who they last week sold to QPR for £12.5million.
With the Premier League transfer window now closed however, Liverpool would be loathe to let any of their defenders leave given they would have no chance of finding cover.
Instead, boss Brendan Rodgers will try to fight off interest in Skrtel until the summer, when he could use the £12million fee to find a suitable replacement.

BS or something lost in translation, I'm not having the phrasing of it as much as anything. A nothing story for me.
