Sturridge- Legend in the making

Ha.
But his total appearance vs goals is ridiculous anyway. Probably the best ever so far at the club, isn't it?

You'd think so. ridiculously good. That phrase 'natural finisher' springs to mind. The fact that he has a bit more about him than stabbing the ball into the net makes him surpass that though.

I read a report on soccernet that we were singing the Berger song for him? How's that goes?

He is phenomenal in front of goal. Just stone cold.
Stone Cold Sturridge.
He seriously needs to be coaching Coutinho on how to slow it down when shooting.

he's scored so many recently i've lost track of them all , i didn't realise he's scored in each of his last 8 games . quality

As of last night, our first player to score in 7 consecutive league games within the premiership era.

The problem for Sturridge is that he's playing with one of the club's best ever players so is somewhat overshadowed but he's a phenomenal player. Cheers Chelsea.

I must be the only one who thinks he'll miss everytime he gets 1v1, but loving every min of his play at the moment.
Still concerned how he will go when he had his eventual barren spell but right now I wouldn't swap him for other player in the league after Suarez

I'm usually more surprised when he misses.

He has this bizarre ability to get better shots off with more time to think about it, he slows it down so well, the way he shapes his body to switch feet or gain an angle is incredible.

The view of the match must be different when you're watching it upside down.

I know I don't know why. With Fowler I always expected a goal but for instance when Studge missed the early sitter against arsenal I wasn't surprised. Damn OZ

What's scary is this reminds me of Ryan and Dreamy when we were going to sign the kid:

Sturridge yes please with Suarez wide left and Sterling wide right.

Why would you move the league's top goalscorer out of position to accomodate someone who has scored a grand total of 2 goals this season, and has never proven himself as a number 9 in his entire career?

I guess the answer was because they'd interchange like mofos and score a shit load of goals while on the pitch together? Let that be a lesson to all of us ... Sometimes, even Dreamy gets the better of Ryan ... but only sometimes.

Dreamy was en fuego during that signing period ... On Coutinho & Sturridge:

I'm shocked so many fans are against these signings.

18m for 2 arrogant cocky confident attacking players with trickery pace selfishness in front of goal and a burning desire to prove they can cut in a big team..

Van Nistelrooy holds the PL record with 10, think hes the only one to go over 7, Sturridge will be out on his own in 2nd place if he scores against Swansea.

Occasionally I like to check out Red Cafe, Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs forums (City's are boring) just to get the other side of the coin (for instance did you know that a high percentage of the more knowledgable Spurs fans seem to think that Sherwood is a very poor tactician and that their luck will not hold) ?

These are some comments from Red Cafe (United, Chelsea, Everton and Arsenal fans) :

As a united fan I would love to have Danny Sturridge in our team, his pace, movement and link up play with his fellow attackers is frightening. Yes he is sometimes selfish but arent strikers supposed to be!

Best English player by a mile .. Probably the most skillful and technical English player ive ever seen as well .

Would of absolutely loved this guy at Arsenal. I think he's got everything, very quick over short distances, fantastic finisher, a lot stronger then people think, special individual ability and works hard. Only slightly lets himself down when he tries to overdo it and be too greedy but hey give me a greedy striker over one that would rather pass at a one on one any day.

He has scored 26 goals in 32 games in the league and 30 in 37 games in all competitions, but not all of those were starts. He's a 30 goal striker, playing in a side which is not focused solely on him, but on the likes of Suarez, Sterling and Coutinho too. I fail to see how anybody can really do him down, regardless of the dance or who he plays for. He's deadly. He was at Bolton, too.

Sturridge is the best striker in the premier league.

He's absolutely sensational. Scores in all the big games too. His all round play is also criminally underrated.

He's been a great signing for them along with Coutinho unfortunately.

Sturridge is on his way to being world class, but I don't think he can fit himself in all systems. Perfect for Liverpool, a speed orientated team with a counter attack mentality. I hope he can do it for England in the world cup, but I'm not convinced Roy will be smart enough to deploy the same system.

Not getting ahead of myself but i honestly cant remember an english player that has the skillset and technical ability sturridge has .

I bloody hate Sturridge. I hate his mediocre name, I hate his insufferable football club, I hate his face, I hate the fact that he can't stop scoring ...... ( me 😀 )

Sturridge is criminally underrated on the Cafe though and I STILL see people say that Welbeck has a higher ceiling or other such rubbish than him... I mean, I understand the desire to protect and big up your own players, but Sturridge makes Welbeck look like a League 1 player.

Hahaha. Those comments have cheered me up no end.

Good to see rival fans know how good he is even if the media completely ignore him.

Incidentally, I think him not being the shining light in the team may be contributing to him trying so damn hard & his levels being so high every single match.

This reminds me of when someone posted an old thread for some reason or another, and hands down the poster who'd been proven right more than anyone else was one spider-neil!

Same here, especially this season, there are still many in denial about Sturridge, though any rational person who has a bit of a clue knows, as mentioned his all round game is indeed criminally underrated by many, i got banned from the Digital Spy forums recently for calling one bellwhiff manc fan out who said Sturridge is just an above average PL striker and has no chance of ever being world class, basically his arguement was that he failed at City and Chelsea, ridiculous.

Lost count of the amount of times ive been banned from there now, 6 or 7 over a few years i think, its always for calling these sorts of people out, the previous ban was because some prat thought Sturridge was a poor technical player, unbelievable how clueless some are, we all make mistakes and misjudge things but when people are so horribly wrong and won't admit it they deserve grief.

You can't swear or abuse someone on those forums so its hard to say what you really want, they are a soft delicate bunch of grasses on there, dunno why i bother really, they always sniff me on there nowadays because i can't help myself calling out the really clueless ones on there (especially the mancs).

Red Cafe is a great read atm, very rarely used to go on there but this season its well worth a read, the Arsenal forums above all other are more interested in themselves than football in general, Chelsea are predicatably a horrible bunch of cunts, not really worth reading theirs, Citys is ok but still suprised at some of the bile on there directed towards us, Spurs - wouldn't know, never look, Everton forums are funny and obviously very bitter, most of them you have to be a member now to browse because of us taking the piss out of them.

They seem to be very tolerant on Red Cafe I must say. Seems to be a good few LFC posters.

In fairness that's some nice quoting there I'd love to who found it myself but I'll leave that sort of self horn blowing to Ryan. 😉
