Lucas is not the main problem.
The main problem is Rafa picking him week in week out.
I think the side at Stoke was the worst in a decade in terms of quality.

---------------Reina
Johnson---Carra-Agger---Aurelio

Maxi-----Mascher-Gerrard--Riera

------------Benayoun---------------
-----------Torres--------------------

Rafa will play

-----------Reina
Carra--Skrtel-Greek--Insua

--------Lucas-Mascher
Degen---Kuyt----------Aurelio
---------N'Gog
???
Rafa doesn't like playing injured players, that's his main problem.

I thought Degen was woeful against Stoke
Who can forget the incident early in the first half when we were coming out of defence only for Degen to smash the ball up field to absolutely no one? He was hopeless.
I think that was Aurelio actually

Caution, wind, blah blah...

Is Agger fit?

-----------Reina------------
Degen--Skrtel-Carra--Aurelio
------Mascherano-----------
-----------Aquilani----------
--Maxi-Kuyt-Pacheco-Babel--

I don't particularly think Lucas needs dropping, half his team mates do at present, but we only need one DM, we need to 'play'. Regards Babel, N'Gog was poor against Reading and Stoke, Babel was poor when he came on against Reading too, but anyway, not alot of choice other than a half fit, slow Riera.

Agger if fit aswell.

Whoops

Fuck it. Throw in the young lad. Why not? Everton and United seem to being doing it.

any line-up with n'gog as the lone striker means zero goals ,if we have to play him he needs another striker beside him .

He was on the bench against Stoke, so presumably.

Reina

Degen Carra Skrtel Aurelion

Maxi Masher Lucas Riera

Kuyt Ngog

I would absolutely love if he gave Pacheco a go but he won't will he

So who's unavailable then?

Is Lucas suspendered? If so that's a loss, cos Palacios will stomp all over the top of Aquilani.

No Gerrard, Glenjo, Torres, Benayoun. Any word of Riera being fit? Bar Lucas, it's pretty much the same eleven that played on the weekend isn't it?
How is it a loss? Lucas is shit, and was stomped all over by Palacios in the first game of the season.
I don't know why I'm bothering... But, he's not shit, for a multitude of reasons I'm not about to go into.

He's absolutely miles ahead of Aquilani right now too in terms of what he gives to us, as evidenced by the fucking hand-holding he did for the Italian at Villa Park a few weeks back.

But this is like explaining the merits of shower gel to a fucking pig so I'm not sure why I'm bothering.

All these line-ups with Maxi in them. Nice.

I'd be fucking stunned if Rafa started with him.

same here. so you'd have to expect n'gog to start, 'cos it's kuyt or maxi for the right wing.

Definitely not suspended, bookings amnesty. No chance Maxi will start either, he might get 3 minutes at the end of the game as he lacks 'match fitness'.

i said it first, you prick.

I suspect Aquillani will start, maybe further upfield behind Dirk. There will be zero running from midfield ahead of him to try and work openings though.

Too easy.

Can see him going with the same team as against stoke. I wish he wouldn't but he will.
Seems like he took "we all dream of a team of Carraghers" a bit too literally.
We need balance and attacking options.

-----------------Reina
----Degen---Skrtel---Carra---Aurelio
---------------
---------------Masher
---------------
---------Maxi-----------Reira
---------------
---------------Aquilani
----------Kuyt----------Babel

I'd give Babel once more chance especially after N'Go's performance against stoke.
Aurelio would not give you balance, he will give us nightmare. Play Insua at left back and Reira at left wing. He's fit to play now. Other than that, your line up seems ok although Degen shouldn't be anywhere near the bench let alone the first team.

And if that happens, you can follow Rafa fuck off to another club.
