Spurs vs Liverpool: Pre-match thread

Seems like he's either got a knock, or Klopp doesn't think he's fit enough yet.
Klopp is understood to be considering naming Sturridge as substitute and fielding Origi as a lone attacker – Tony Barrett, The Times

Listened to the guys press conference - was actually very good and down to earth - love the bit about him not wanting to have his picture taken in the restaurant - in case its get posted on twitter and people think he is out all day doing fuck all to do with football.

That's the spirit Moron!

If we win tomorrow - it will be a miracle. This team of ours has been so inconsistent from one game to the next - that I honestly feel like the team is turning into one of those middle order teams. But then we are just 6 points off the top so what does all this bollox mean ? I don't know anymore - football in the premier league does not make any sense. But I suppose what many of us forget is that we now have good managers across most of the teams with that European experience. Every team seems to be really hard to beat.

Huge opportunity for Origi, once again, but that's absolutely the most positive way I can look at it, should Sturridge not be in there.

I think Origi does have some real potential, more so than Ings in some ways, but alone up front is a huge ask. If he doesn't start well it could be a long day. Even if we do settle down, there aren't a lot of goals in that side.

Yeah you are pretty much right.

Let's get behind a win tomorrow.

It's amazing but RedCafe is more confident of us doing well at Spurs than we are ! Around 75% have forecast a win or a draw for us at WHL.

If Sturridge is out we are screwed. Origi plays like he's forgotten what he's supposed to do and that will only magnify if he's asked to do it alone.

Ha!

Seriously, I had somehow completely missed the fact he was injured!

I tend to just read a few Liverpool articles a week, don't listen to any podcasts lately & I've just read the klopp stuff & kinda ignored everything else, although I usually spot the ones about injuries.

No worries. We all miss the odd story. Anyway Ings isn't that important to the way we play. Thankfully Sterling is fit so we should be fine.

Bricking it tbh. Been so much talk for the last week that the build up has been insane.
Will be a tough game but hopefully we'll see a change in mentality at least.

Fingers crossed for 3 points

More consistent and a great fighting spirit from the team will be a good start. 3 points will be greater. But hey cannot expect a miracle overnight.

Definitely need a top striker in Jan. Studge is tops but clearly prone to injury.
I actually don't think that's too insane.

I think a DM is top priority, but the fact Klopp specifically said that "We have top strikers (when they aren't injured)" in his first press conference speaks volumes.

I don't think he sees sturridge as reliable enough, & rightly so, unfortunately, cos when fit he's the best & most reliable goalscorer in this league.

Sounds like Studge has a knock and we're being careful with him. Nothing wrong with that.
Time for Origi to step up. He did it in the WC so he can obviously deliver.

Going on what people are saying on Twitter, this is the team I guess:

Ming
Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
Can Lucas
Lallana Coutinho Milner
Origi
