Agree with most of what's been said about us.

As for City... I think they're going to win the league.
[/quote]

Yup. We're the only tea to have given them cause for concern, and that was only because our entire squad was immaculate

Can't see many others doing that

I'll set them up, you knock them down.

I'm proud of our lads today. City are an impressive side, with an embarrassment of riches monetarily and on the pitch. They showed it too first half, they looked classy at times. We stood resolute though and we fought like lions to gain a foothold. When we did we were impressive and City were bricking it at times. The league leaders with a squad assembled for 500m quid. We're still someway off where we all want to be but, given where we were 12 months ago, it's a positive sign. I came out the game gutted about the result but buzzing about the performance. I hope the players feel that way too and take that feeling, realise we're better than we and others give us credit for, and build on it for the rest of the season

I think Sunny sums it up brilliantly.

This is why I don't think we shouldn't feel disappointed. City are already there, setting the benchmark, money has made them an instant success and they'll very likely win the league this season. But we've got more to come, and could easily reach their level, even surpass it since we don't have players that could cause an implosion in the team.

Hopefully, we not too knackered and win on Tuesday. Some silverware would be good to prove the future is bright.

I think it is fair to say we are definitely growing as a team, gutsy performances all over the park today against a fantastic man city side who were clearly up for it...

shame that we didnt get the second goal our second half performance deserved.

2 months without defeat.... we can push on from that and start winning some games.... hopefully with Stevie back in the squad sooner rather than later.

- Lucas was phenomenal. I hope this is only the beginning for him - i.e. he improves his level even more. I hope I continue to eat humble pie.

- Downing was fine, but lacking confidence. I think a goal, or assist, will pick him up dramatically. Yes, it was a bad signing but he can still do something for this team.

- Henderson has something about him, but not sure he's ready to be a player we can count on yet.

- Adam was very good again.

- Can Kenny really drop Agger/Skrtl combo? They were very good again. Agger's slide on Aguero to prevent him from shooting was excellent (when he got the ball from Silva). Agger, when healthy and playing like he is, is a dominant CB. Stay healthy.

- Carroll was so unlucky ... but hopefully that's signs of things to come with the big lad, that he's starting to adjust his attitude to what it takes to be a Liverpool player.

- Sunny is very tall.

Ah yes, we can expect to play well against the top 6 (except that game against Spurs was a glitch). Lets hope we kill off the bottom half teams!

Not a fucking chance,Mossad boy.

This was your first game,a FULL report is expected.

You may glean some hints from any of my previous masterpieces.

I think it's foolish to gauge much of our progress or Kenny's progress with how we perform against the top teams. That hasn't been our problem in almost any of the past 20+ years we've been without the title. I am happy with our performance today, but as always, I am looking forward to the days when we can stop hemorrhaging points at home to the Stokes and Norwich's of the world. That will be the true measure of progress in my eyes, of whether or not we can contend for a league title.

Me too! He was great!

So far he´s been a waste of space and I´m afraid that this is his level (more or less). He seems slow in mind and therefore in his reaction. Forget about the transfer fees, play Bellamy

- Henderson has something about him, but not sure he's ready to be a player we can count on yet.

Don´t know really what he´s about...but there is something about him (or is it because I want it to be something about him?). Not ready.

- Adam was very good again.

x2!

No.

When (if?) Gerrard gets fit I hope we play Lucas/Adam in the middle and Gerrard behind Suarez.

- Sunny is very tall.

Henderson clearly has something about him... A good potential. I thought he was a bit invisible in the first half, but then again Man City didnt have their own game going, so I think he has spent much of his game pressing their midfield together with Lucas (whom was a giant last night).

I do have a couple of minor criticisms of yesterday's performance, as good as it was

Our midfield were pretty dominant yesterday but we still had the problem where we sat too deep at times.
The amount of times we attacked and there was no-one in the box was hugely frustrating.
We need an out and out goalscorer. I hope we can pick one up in January as Andy Carroll isn't ready and may never be.

I noticed that Suarez is still struggling to get free kicks ever since Fergie called him a diver

Yep. Kompany got away with some shocking challenges. Su

Tell you what else I noticed yesterday. City fans traditionally were some of the louder fans you'd get at Anfield and always good for a bit of banter. Bit like West Hams too. Yesterday, they were really quiet though, even when they were on top.I don't know what it is - whether their expectations have changed somewhat but they seemed to have lost their supporting mojo a little. Maybe it's because they're doing so well they don't need their usual gallows humour and maybe don't know any other type ?

They were loud before and after in the street, but yeah, very subdued. they were deathly quiet when they dicked us LSAT August too.

Anyways, our problem is lack of goals. I think we've only managed three in a match once this season. I'd agree that Gerrard up front could give us what we need, but I thinkhe might be donating his life force to Lucas via some weird transfusions at the minute

Avvy  It was a start by Wizzy. Give the lad a chance.

Avvy - I realized that I don't have the ability to write well enough to describe what I felt being there ... It will just do the whole experience much injustice.

Very, very surprised Kuyt isnt coming in for more flak.

Is SCM becoming more tolerant on the run in to Christmas, or is this our new found milk of human kindness putting in an appearance?

bees bee
beers shit in the woods
kuyt has a slump in the winter

it's kind of pointless getting upset about it. I only hope his spring surge happens sooner.

Some of his missing yesterday was pretty awful for someone who came here as a striker. I love Kuyt, but he seriously needs to find the onion bag soon.

I'll try and do one eventually ... but I couldn't write anything down last night - I'm still recovering
