My post-game thoughts are exactly my pre-game thoughts.

Why don't you save yourself the keystrokes and just post this every single time?

Oh and am I being overly sensitive? Is posting a picture of dead soldier from the Somme or whatever battlefield it is and comparing it to Wigan's pitch now humour? I've found that a little disconcerting. Or perhaps it should just be in Paddy's bad taste thread?
No you're not being over-sensitive. That post was in disgustingly poor taste and if there was any even half decent moderation, it would have been instantly removed and the poster warned.
My sincere apologies. Truth be told I just googled "no man's land" and didn't really look at the pic (and see the bodies) before posting it. I did make a joking comment in reply and, in retrospect, I can see how it would offend.

I had close relatives who served in the campaign so, while I personally would not have been offended had someone else posted it, I can certainly understand the POV of those who are. Don't get on the mods' backs; it was my mistake and I apologize.

I wasn't trying to provoke a reaction. There's a difference between an error and a malicious error. This was not the latter. Ease up.

I think most of us who know you well knew that DSE. It's not in your nature. It was in poor taste but it wasn't intentional. That's my view on it.

Thanks. Appreciate it. I am definitely a fan of off-colour humour but I try to keep it audience-sensitive and, in this case, just didn't pick up on the potential for offense.

Kuyt's tackle was worthy of Red.

Late, high and studs up.

A draw was a fair result.
I can't even remember which tackle you're talking about.

Probably Mascherano.

Ha.

Seriously Dreamy, which tackle are you on about?

Dirk went to block the ball and raised his boot and led with his studs.

It was mildly dangerous and worthy of a booking, but certainly no more than that.

Right, so fuck all then.

Thought as much.

Lets get DB on the ref's panel. Then he get our playters retrospectively sent off just so he can say "I told you so" and how "he's enjoying this season more than last"....

I will admit to watching this on an ESPN stream, but I don't recall that tackle. I remember a pretty bad one from Masher.

Kuyts tackle was rather grim actually. Probably not as ugly as Pienaars on Masher but not far off.

Masher was extremely lucky not to walk for the third time this year.

His foot was high and he held his hands up immediately in acknowledgement. He was trying to block a clearance just over the half-way line and there was no malice in it at all. What's more, the contact was minimal.

It was worthy of a yellow and that's what he got. Any more would have been very harsh indeed.

Red's have been given before for similar challenges, but you are right there was no malice whatsoever in it.

We were not interested at all to win the game. Max 1 guy in the box, and the rest waiting 20 meters deepr in the pitch... Wasteless game.

Not interested in winning? He showed as much attacking interest as the home team but failed to materialise on it due to poor performances from our attacking players. We brought on Yossi Riera and Aquaman, all attacking influences in their own right. We tried to go out and win, we just weren't good enough to do it. Throw in a fit Torres, Yossi and Glen jo and we would have won that game. Zabaletta was MOTM, their right back. Say it all really.

Kuyt deserved a yellow, but a red? Ha, you're having a laugh Dreamy.

As for the Mascherano incident, the FA just announced that he won't be charged with anything as Peter Walton "saw" it, and let the play continue.
That says an awful lot about Walton if you ask me.

As for the game, we kept a clean sheet at away at City, which NOT ONE team has done before us this season.

Inusa, all the crap he gets aside, only has Gerrard a head of him when it comes to assists this season.

Not that I recall however I watched the game after 43 hours of poker and 3 hours of sleep so I was pretty tired.

Mashers tackle was nasty too but Kuyt's was dangerous and uncalled for. Lucky to have stayed on.

No malice but still if he was sent off for it I wouldn't have questioned it.
