I know Babel isn't often much use, but Kuyt is always clumsy and slow.

Kuyt is about 20 times better than Babel.

The Stoke match isn't going to be easy

Torres will have to toughen up for this one.
Fucking behave yourself Squig. If were worried about Stoke AT HOME, then we really are lost.

Why?

In terms of physical challenges, its fair to say Stoke won't be fucking easy.

In terms of skill and ability we should fucking hammer them.

Stoke etc AT HOME is precisely where we lost the league last season.

Why does torres need to toughen up though? He has proven he can handle the worst this league has to offer and then some.

He took a battering against Reading in his first season for example so he has shown he can take a good kicking. Against Spurs he seemed lethargic and frustrated. Hopefully he'll bang in a goal Wednesday and let the flood gates open.

There is allot of talk about our forward line but if and when Agger is back I think there is a decent case for dropping Carragher - I know that is probably sacrilegious for most here but he has been poor for a while. Well maybe poor is a little harsh but very inconsistent anyhow for the last 6 months or so.

Well yeah he has the odd game like that but it will be cool once he gets back into the swing of things again. Here is hoping for a repeat of his debut season.

Not sure Skrtel and Agger will be as good a combination as Carra and either of the other two. His experience would be a big miss.

That said, it's true about his patchy form, and I'd expect him to be rested more often this season anyway, so Skrtel and Agger are going to need games together.

Don't be ridiculous. Under now circumstances should Carragher be dropped in the league. He can rested come Carling cup. We need Agger and Skrtel both fit and Helping Carragher. He can't be carrying a youth player at the moment.

See bold. Didnt mention any youth players.
Under no circumstances? what about circumstances where he is playing rather poorly. Skrtl and Agger might well be a better option at the moment.

I've expressed my concerns over carras legs before and am usually ridiculed. I hope he gets back on too form, but I remain dubious.

He's played without a decent rest for an age now and has, rightly so, been un-droppable, but I do think the last 6 months have been his worse for 5 years - maybe taking his place for granted? Anyhow, I'd be happy with Agger and Skrtl against some of the poorer teams in the league.

carra was hoof ball panic mode poor against spurs. if carra carries on like this i'd rather see a partnership of skertel and agger. or at the very least agger and carra, at least then one of em can pass the ball.

these 4141, 41221 formations are interesting. all made up to accommodate lucas as we all know rafa will be stubborn and continue to play him instead of dropping gerrard into the middle and playing yossi behind torres.
Apart from EVERY International window, EVERY carling cup game, and EVERY summer for the last 4 years. I'd warrant he gets more rest than most.

He has played in pretty much every Premier League and Champions league game over the last 4 years then that will take it's toll, especially now that he is 31/32. Bottom line is he has been distinctively below his best for the last 6 months.

Indeed.

He just looked completely disheartened against Spurs, and his attitude wasn't the best.

Physically I know he can handle it, but being a lone striker's a lonely place and  Ryan's right: there are games where he loses interest when things aren't going his way.

Once Agger/Srktel come back to full fitness they can partner Carragher and settle down into their stride. Carragher played with Ayala for a period of time yesterday, that was why I said he doesn't need to be carrying a youth player when he is lethargic himself.

I am concerned about Carragher seeming jaded and lethargic but he doesn't warrant dropping.

Wow did you see him at all last season. True, he might be lacking a bit finesse, but he more than makes up for it in stuff like goals(12), assists(9), incredible workrate and great defensive work.

Such smarmy arsery.

Kuyt is one fucking million times better than Babel, which is why he'll play more often, score more often, and do more more often than him this season, just like every other fucking season. Stick your Babel = total football up your manx arse.

It's on Canal so it should be on in a few pubs.

Where does this no skill thing come from for Kuyt? He's played some of the sexiest little passes of any Liverpool player recently.
