Seriously? If there was any chance that Mourinho was available and interested then the owners should have got him on the first flight and we shouldn't even bother will all of these threads.

Seriously. But then I also said way back that I'd rather be mid-table with Moores than follow the Chelsea route. I would also have given 'one more year' to any of our managers since Evans.

Oh, okay. Fair enough.

Er, does that include Woy?

He was hired under that understanding before though. Didn't stop him blaming others and demanding more power later though did it?

And he said himself in one of those many press conferences he did about us when he was someone else's manager, the owners 'changed everything'. So if everything is still in place, what was he on about exactly?

They changed his ability to sign players for instance. Everything went through Purslow. In terms of the Academy, the relationship of that to the club, the philosophy of organising the youth structures, it all remained.

If he joins again, that side of things will remain exactly has he set it out. He will enter into a different management structure, and will accept it, or not get the job.

He got that extra power last time because of the power struggle between H&G. it was a mess. It was wrong to concentrate power in his hands like that, and again, I think he probably appreciates that too now.

Klopp or Deschamps out of that list.
Coaches I like that aren't in the list and probably have no chance of coming to Liverpool anyway.
Ancelotti
Pellegrini
Van Gaal

Van Gaal I 100% believe he would bring us the title within a few seasons. He's an amazing coach but he's a bit stern towards the players following his teachings which results in a lot of falling outs with players as I'm sure everyone is aware.

Van Gaal is a fucking lunatic. A successful one, but nevertheless, a raving lunatic.

There's no way FSG will employ him.

Yes, perhaps it would have been better if they hadnt said who they wanted to interview... being publically turned down by the manager of fucking Swansea is a bit rich.

I don't think Rodgers turning us down is something to worry about. It's not a slight on us, more he's clever enough to realise now is not the right time in his career.

I voted for Lambert, but I was working under the assumption Rafa was a no go. I'd take Rafa over any of the options on that list.

to be honest - none of those fill me with any confidence. Names like Fabio Capello don't impress me - he has always managed top teams with the best players to win the league, we don't have that many good players and his tactical knowledge won't make any difference. Rafa tried and could not win us the league so not good enough. AVB - won league with Portugals best team, so not a big thing. Didier Des' would easily relegate us, would not know what to do with our team. Klopp potentially could have as he has won league with the lesser team in Germany. The rest - well not big enough names, and our players would not respect them.

What?

So you want a big name so that the players would respect, a name that's won it all with really shitty players in a small team on a shoestring budget and hasn't already been a manager for LFC?

Well with Klopp out, seems like AVB or Rafa are the peoples choices. AVB does seem too young to manage personalities. The new kids on the block arent getting a look in here at least.
