Be funny if, after all this, Aquilani didn't even start wouldn't it?... Wouldn't it?

I don't care enough to post a possible team line-up, 'cept to say we're likely to see a whole host of changes. Kygriakos, Aurelio, Skrtel, some kids, Aqui, and Torres maybe.

Can't wait to hear how "it was a nothing game anyway" if we win, but that "Rafa should be sacked immediately!" if we lose.

1-1 draw.
 
Can't see it happening Wilko.

If he doesn't get a look-in in the Carling Cup, he's unlikely to get gametime in the Champions League. Regardless of the nothingness of the fixture.

I think Aquilini wont play because imagine if he got injured in this nothing game after all this wait!

Rafa would be cruxified. I bet we dont see him in 2009.

I am not saying Pachecho will play. But for the Leeds game, he was injured. For the Arsenal game, the spanish FA called him up for an U 21 game. I think he would have played in the Carling Cup, otherwise. However, has he been on the bench even once?
 
Australians - For the first time in recent memory, we're not on any TV stations. Not even delayed coverage.

There better be a decent stream for this.

Let's hope thats not a sign of things to come.

I'd settle for a decent performance than a decent stream.

I'd like to see Kelly play.
 
Should be a good game.

Viola have been played quite well recently.

Juan Vargas is the man to watch out for... always getting into great positions on the left wing and putting in front post crosses for Gila.... if Vargas continues the form he is in, expect a big offer come in for him end of the season.

Also, Montolivo is starting to assert himself more - starting to play very much like Pirlo ... good distribution out to Vargas and Santana, and also pushing right up to the edge of the box when Viola are attacking.

Should be a good match.
 
I hope Rafa plays Mascher next to Aquilani - it would be too dispiriting for our £20m signing to make his debut alongside Plessis or Spearing. We also need to remember how to play football again, so I'd pick a fairly strong team:

Reina

Kelly* - Skrtel - Zorba - Aurelio

Babel* - Mascherano - Aquilani - Riera

Torres* - Wash


* = if fit
 
So, Aquilani will play. And from what I've read this morning, Lucas and Dossena will start aswell.
 
I actually think he'll play quite a strong line up, which includes, aquilani, torres and gerrard - all three (especially aquilani) need some game time following injury.

It is not the age but apparently if you are registered as an academy player for more than 2 years then you are eligible to play. Bizarre ruling but get him in.
