Lose a world class striker and win a major trophy the season after?

Personally after watching our old no 9 at home to Wolves I'm not that bothered that we have replaced him with Carroll and Luis.

He didn't want to be here anymore (wonders if the stories of a fall out with Carra and Gerrard are true) and I'd rather he went now for 50m than stayed and played shit.

I'm sure when the dust settles he will say some nice things about LFC and the fans.

But can we rub it in his face next season by winning something big or even the Europa league this season?
 
Yeah Torres will be furious if we win the Europa League without him.

Imagine the ignominy of only having the World Cup and the European Championships to your name as a striker, and *not* being able to show off a Europa League medal.

I was referring to the fact he's won nothing at club level and hardly going to win a trophy this season with Chelsea at least.

Do you think we can bounce back next season and challenge without him?
 
I think we've more chance of winning the Europa league than the chavs of the league or CL..
