So another thread about Coutinho

3 excellent attacing options in him, Suarez & Sturridge. Get a proper midfielder and two quality CBs, and we have a team that really should push for top 4 nextx year.

I love Coutihno, but to be fair Newcastle made it easy for him to show his best qualities by leaving a giant amount of space between the defensive and midfield lines. The way there were playing, it's like they've never even considered the possibility that midfielders can play "in the hole" or strikers can sometimes drop deep to collect the ball. Both Sturridge and Coutihno had a field day.

I'd like to see him in the middle for the remaining games. It'll be very interesting to see how he does in that role against Everton who will try and bully him out of the game.

Loved the little guy today though and the way he passed like Ronaldinho looking the other way.

Suso must have watched that performance from the bench and thought to himself "FUCK!".

Very few attacking midfielders get the luxury of playing in the middle. Even Zidane found himself out on left wing at Real Madrid and Ronaldinho the same at Barcelona.

Coutinho will probably end up on the wing and given that he has pace and can dribble, he might find it hard to persuade managers that he shouldn't play there.

Good problems to have though.
Someone changed his mind...

He's that player we've needed for years, the David silva type of player that can unlock defences.
He's brilliant and I can't believe we got him as cheap as we did.

It will indeed be interesting because so far I think he's confounded a lot of people by being a lot tougher than they were probably expecting, me included. There's a definite robustness about him which Lucas, our other Brazilian, notably lacked for a long time.

My favourite moment from him today was his shoulder charge that banged yer man off the ball just before he then lunged in and got sent off. He's a little imp but he has already shown how keen he is to up his physicality for the English game. He's a wee hero in the making. love him.

He's a little genius.

Has his flaws, particularly when he cheaply gives the ball away in our own half or places where risky flicks aren't necessary, but he's young, learning, and again, a genius.
Forwards, particularly quick ones like Sturridge will absolutely LOVE playing with him.
He's not Silva level, but he certainly has the potential to mature into a worldclass star like him, with the added advantage of being a fair bit quicker too.
We're fucking lucky to have him, at a paltry 8m pounds too. Having genius's like Coutinho, Suarez and Gerrard, with a potentially world class striker in Sturridge is unbelievable. What a great end to such a shite week.

He was a superstar in my Fifa 10 Colchester United Premier league winning team, just like he'll be a star in our 2015 Premier league winning team?

I can dream can't I?

His touch and vision is superb. A joy to watch.

He was crowded out an ineffective last week against Chelsea but i'm hoping he can still be highly influential even against the top sides where he's closed down quicker. He has more than enough ability to do it.

Magical. Such a pleasure to watch. Hard working, skillz with a z, sublime passes and a shot like a sledgehammer.

Love him!

To be taken off last week at h/t then to give a man of the match performance says it all about the lad. Has the ability and seems to have the desire to be a top player

Inter let him go for £8M. Everything he's shown for Liverpool so far is a player who is worth four or five times that amount.

Well done to Rodgers and well done to Coutinho. From day one he's been boss. No settling in period. No bullshit excuses. This is how good I am.

The fact that Steven Gerrard is already labelling alongside some of the best players he's ever played with says it all.

The best part is he will likely be even better next year when hes had a full preseason and added some upper body strength. Hes a gem no doubt about it, and hes also the reason I dont think we will be looking at players like Eriksen this summer, he has the creative midfield spot nailed down
