It's a fair point. I don't really care in the grand scheme of things, but Stevie is a good example. For all his achievements with Liverpool, I can't help thinking he was an alienating presence for others at the club. If he'd been a bit less about himself and a bit more about bringing people together, he may well have finished his career with a Premier League medal or two. So I do think massively egotistical (albeit super-talented) players can upset the balance of a team, and have a detrimental effect on other players. Which is why as a general rule, I'd prefer to avoid them.He very well may be a bellend but if he drags his club to trophies, does anyone really care.
Stevie G is a legend and also, by some accounts, a bit of a bellend.
Unless the English teams bomb out early which is highly unlikely there will 5 spots up for grabs.
Yeah, all our players have a oral examination to determine if player is a cunt or not a cunt. Its safe to say apart from @Frogfish , @dmishra , and a few of the older than me members on here would not pass the cunt test. I Would fail, because if we dont win a title this season I want Klopp out.Am I wrong in thinking that Klopp also considers the personality of players before we sign them. Because it feels like we haven't had that much experience with cunts in our team since he took over.
I can only remember one player who annoyed him and that was Sakho but Klopp didn't sign him.

You are mate, all our players were cunts before we signed them (because every player who isn't a current Liverpool player is a cunt), Klopp turned that cuntness into loveable rogueness and now those that left are back to being cunts, well some of them.Am I wrong in thinking that Klopp also considers the personality of players before we sign them. Good point.Yep, understood. Still want the scum to lose every match they play.

Every winning squad (bar maybe Man City) has some plodders in it. And not everyone responds well to leadership by machismo. I'm not suggesting that the Diaos of this world would suddenly have become world-beaters with a bit more encouragement, but the Smicers might have had more to contribute. You only have to look at the team spirit of Klopp's Liverpool to appreciate how a a team can be greater than the sum of its parts. And having a captain who doesn't blast the ball at you in your first training session or roll their eyes/throw their arms up when you make a mistake during matches is absolutely a part of that. This always crops up but I just don't buy it. Gerrard seemed to have a notably good on-field relationship with the good players at the club. There are many reasons we failed to win a title during his time but I don't think his failing to turn the likes of Diao, Nunez, Josemi et al into worthy players is one of them.
What’s the meaning of the thread title? Am I missing something?
slog

work hard over a period of time.
"they were slogging away to meet a deadline"
noun
a spell of difficult, tiring work or travelling.
"it would be a hard slog back to the camp"
He works hard init, and sounds like the first part of his name
I saw that earlier. Not really a fair comparison imo. Ox and Keita weren't first choice that season.Jeezzess, now thats a stat:
Szoboszlai & Mac Allister have already played more league minutes for Liverpool in 4 games than Ox and Keita played in the whole of 22/23 season.

A little too late last season, though. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to defend them, but their time at the club was up even before the season started. If we could have sold them we would have, I think.because they couldn’t play themselves into favor.
