Why the fk aren't the Saudis bidding £200m for this guy? Don't they watch our games?

A point a piece would top off a lovely weekend.

I'm quite happy that the arse stole it at the end... They will deffo be one of the top four, so it really only leaves two more spots to play for amoungst the rest of us. The scum and us and Saudi Arabia FC and maybe Spurs and even Brighton or Villa will be fighting for those last two spots - I want all those teams to drop as many points as possible.

Pool, city, Arsenal, NcFC, Chelsea, Brighton, Villa, Man United and Spurs - maybe even one surprise team. 10 teams all competing for four spots… (maybe 5?). More than 50% of the teams will be disappointed. Bananas

I think Spurs look very dangerous at the moment. They have already handed United an arse beating, they will not be an easy team to beat by anyone this season. Also I don't think West Ham will get top 4, but having watched their games a few times this season, you can see the players are really hyped by their European trophy win, they have a very strong determination to defend and win games, they don't look anything like a piss-head team that turn up once in a while. The game against Brighton away was very good for them.

I like watching the ball get smashed into the goal from out of the box. There were long stretches of shit where it's all we had, and we had a mastercraftsman.

I've realized that even though I've moved on entirely, and that there's nothing sustainable about a relationship with yelling "hit it," even if it was enough to win an fa cup, a champions league and a... See, now I'm getting wistful. What I'm trying to say is that you can't marry "hit it".

But there's something different about your first, especially since she was a little filthy.

I didn't know much about this guy, but he looked and sounded like a strong attacking mid, great on pens & FKs and likes to threaten down the wing. What all reports I saw missed is that his work rate is INSANE, he covers every blade of grass. His tenacity and will to win is the closest i've seen in our team to Suarez for a long time. I think he has everything, we should (and it feels like we are) building a team around him.

Saudis aren't in the market for actual good players. They are looking for big names that will get headlines and attention across various demographics. Sports washing isn't about which Saudi team beats the other in their league - its about looking like a 5 star great destination for the most famous players in world sports.

Klopp's record on transfers has been excellent, and if we had the budgets of our rival clubs, no doubt we probably would have 1 or 2 extra CL/PL titles as a result.

Is it though?
Feels like I'm arguing semantics here, I mean it's definitely better than "good", but excellent makes it sound like he hasn't made any mistakes.
That CL final...

The question is why aren't the Saudis trying to sign players from Newcastle and Chelsea that they dont want to sell.

To be honest they are only going for players of a certain age bracket and maybe when going for the younger ones - targeting either muslim players or those that can be easily taken in by money. What I am waiting for is that moment when say a 28 year old signs for a Saudi team (from any team except Chelsea/Newcastle), plays one season in Saudi, and then is sold onto either Newcastle or Chelsea the following season.

rectified it with the best goalie in the world, and won it 12 months later, to be fair.

It can be frustrating, waiting for the right player, ,centre half 3 years ago, midfielder(s) last year, for example, but he generally identifies particulars instead of a scattergun approach

The thing about Szobo is he's already a very good player, and he's only 22.

When he gets to 25, he's going to be outstanding. I kind of still feel like he's learning the RCM role. We haven't seen anywhere near his top level yet.

Very early to get drawn into comparisons, but fuck it.

He's probably ahead of KDB at the same age. I'm amazed City were not in for him, TBH, and now signing the likes of Nunes, who was clearly way down our list. What I like is he knows he's class, but he keeps it humble. The same can't be said for the likes of Bellingham. Apparently, the Dortmund dressing room was delighted he fucked off.

He'll fit in nicely at Real...

He just caught it on the volley.

He had the presence of mind and the skill to keep it low, not just hit and hope, which would probably have led to it hitting a defender and going anywhere but the net.

It was a subtle but exceptional piece of skill IMO.

The line about catching it one the volley goes back with Athen's and myself in school. Someone broke the window in our form class during lunch. The kid was brought into the classroom and asked to explain himself to the teacher, his reply:

'Miss, I just caught it on the volley'
