Mignolet - GK - 9M
Alberto - AM - 6/7M
Aspas - Forward - 9M
MikwuiFGVRsrthtzfjn - AM - 20M

That's 45M odd on attacking players and a goalkeeper.

Llori from what I can gather is a kid, and won't be costing that much.

Where are we finding another 20M for a top centre back? unless we sell Suarez, I've no idea how we're funding all this. So if we end up with 3 new attacking things, a goalkeeper and the only centrebacks we've got to show for it are some kid from the Portugal under 12's and Kolo fucking Toure there will be keyboard war.

Don't be concerned Ryan. We've got toure to partner agger

Provided neither has a huge drop in form, that could last a season. Asking a lot for a 32YO and Daniel "Fine China" Agger to both stay on the pitch for an entire season though.

Definitely need some depth.

I want an established cb and another young one

We could get away without another youth one if wisdom /Kelly makes the step up

Carroll 15M
Reina 8M

That would make our net spend only 22M.

Anyways, it looks like we're only buying Mkhitaryan if we sell Suarez.

It's not Agger and Toure's injury record or age that worries me. More their ability.

Aspas 7.5
Illori 5
Alberto 7
Papa 15
Mignolet 10

Total: 44.5

Transfer kitty 20
Carroll 15
Skrtel 10

Total: 45

So we don't even need to sell Reina to afford the lot. If the likes of Reina, Shelvey or Downing leave too, we will have even more income to spend on transfers.

All the in's are about to be done, apparently. So that's a 45M outlay.

Carroll may or may not go, and I've seen no information about Skrtel going anywhere.

It may all work out perfectly, but a lot of this is dependent on some people hopefully leaving.

We are selling Carroll for 15m, We will likely sell (and the prices are rough and low)
Spearing 3m
Skrtel 8m
Reina 9m
Robinson/Flanagan 1m
Shelvey 4m
and maybe
Downing 5m
Thats 45m generated even before selling Suarez
Our kitty is usually 20m
So thats 65m even if we keep Suarez (roughly)
Mignolet - 9m
Aspas - 7.5m
Alberto - 5m
Ilori - 5m
Myki - 20m
= 46.5m

There is no excuse for not signing a worldy CB.
Thats not to mention that Carroll, Skrtel, Reina and Downing are all on 100k a week whereas Mignolet, Aspas, Alberto and Ilori will be on closer to 30-40k each. Thats a saving of 13m a year in wages.

If ALL thes links are true, which usually they arent. I would reckon that this lot (and a CB of note) will be the sum of our business, leaving us about even on the summer and the only question then is does Goofy stay or go.
I would reckon that if he goes we WILL ask for a player (Morata) in exchange and invest half the money on a younger prospect like Benteke or Muriel leaving us (for the whole window) with

Toure
Ilori
CB
Alberto
Aspas
Myki
Mignolet
TOP CF
Bit part madridista

and a saving of about 20m in transfers AND a saving of 15-20m in wages per annum.

I get the feeling we actually know what we are doing for a change.
I really do.

Who would a suitably worldly centre back be?

(Just asking, I don't really follow these things...)

Fuck knows.
All bets are off for me when we are paying 20m for a CM I never heard of who ISNT EVEN ON FIFA!!

For the first time ever it seems our scouts have a bit more about them than watching Match of the day.

Bare excited.

We need competition for our fullback positions though.

Oh, and I like Reina; will be sad to see him go.

We have Kelly and Wisdom plus Mcglaughlin (who the youth watchers rave about)

I agree about Reina.
I will miss him too, but it is sentimantality that stops us achieving. 31 year old out 23 year old in with like for like performance-ish and 60k saving a week is good business AND good footballing.

And it sounds very strange that Mignolet will sign without knowing he'll be nr 1.
World cup just around the corner aswell.

Reinas Barca deal is probably done imho

With each transfer window we as fans have better insight into the club's targets, even before any offers have materialized. It seems almost impossible to keep anything secret these days. We are watching our club's transfer activity happen in real time and I have to say it's quite exciting.

For CBs, we know that Papa is/was our top target. But now the negotiations have been put on hold, because Schalke wants more than we are prepared to pay and also Papa had a setback in his recovery from a knee injury. I wonder who is our second choice CB? Illori is in a different category, he is more of a replacement for Coates than for Skrtel. I don't know if we are really interested in Alderweireld or is it just the player and his agent making it seem like we want to buy him. Who else?

I was thinking more about the leftback position, think there should be some competition for Enrique.

Re Reina: I can understand why he should go; but it just sucks that football is so businesslike nowadays

I'm happy to see Pepe go. He's been complacent for too long.

Illori also plays LB and then there's young Robinson.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has spoken about his future with the club following speculation that he will leave should they complete the signing of Simon Mignolet.

The current Sunderland goalkeeper has been the subject of much speculation that he will make the switch to Anfield, allowing Reina to return to Spain after joining the Reds from Villarreal in 2005.

Reina had been linked with a return to former club Barcelona after news surfaced that Victor Valdes would not be extending his contract, while he was linked at the time with a move to big-spending French side Monaco.

But Valdes’ admission that he would see out the final year of his contract has put the brakes on any potential transfer, and Reina has now had his say on what his future holds.

"My situation is clear. I have a three-year contract with Liverpool, although in football you can never tell," he told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

"I'm very happy and satisfied at Liverpool, I feel valued and respected. Logically, if there was a chance to improve and go to a bigger club it would be a good opportunity, although there are few clubs bigger than Liverpool."

Reina has enjoyed a relatively successful career with Liverpool having won an FA Cup and League Cup, as well as the Community Shield and the European Super Cup, but the absence of Champions League football in recent years must surely be something to think about for the 30-year-old.

In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Confidencial Reina added: "In principle my plan is to continue with Liverpool.

Upon being asked while on duty with Spain at the Confederations Cup if his time at Anfield had come to an end, he responded: "I don't think so. Nor do I think that is a possibility.

"I have three years left on my contract and I want to fulfil that and even go further.

"The best option for my family is for me to stick with Liverpool."
