Seeing Coates in the Copa, I have to say I got a completly different opinion than Karlsen.
This ^^

Quite the opposite of what Karlsen said
Damn it! I think I'm back to trusting Karlsen now. Cancel the signing!!!

I love how the whole forum wants him despite not having had even heard of him 24 hours ago.
So you're suggesting we get over coates?
Gets Pesam his coate.
That's petty.
Don't turn on him now.
I wouldn't waist my time.

According to some Journo from Uruguay, this deal is only a few hours away from happening..

If the Coates transfer comes to fruition and the scouting reports are accurate and if Bellamy returns on acceptable terms then Kenny will have done an absolutely magnificent job in addressing the long standing weaknesses of the team and squad.

Of course, it will be up to the players to do the business for him on the field of play and repay the faith he has shown in bringing them to Liverpool.

Sky Bet: We've also seen cash for Joe Cole to go to Tottenham and he is now 4/7 from 4/1 to go to White Hart Lane. For the latest markets and breaking transfer odds, follow us on Twitter @SkyBet.

Yup.

LW: sorted
LB: sorted
CB: sorted
RM: sorted (?)
back up ST: sorted
options at CM: sorted, although it may have been better if they'd had more of a defensive slant to them.

Get shot of the rest of the dross and he's pretty much ticked all of the boxes

I'm not a religious man, but, Buddha told us, long ago.......

I saw this guy in the Copa America, like most, I'm excited about this signing. I think a deal is likely to be done, as the Greek leaving came out of nowhere, so we must have someone lined up. Now we know who. Hyppia's replacement has now been found.

I know this might sound unpopular here but Comolli should deserve some credit too. He definitely played some part in the transfers.

Come on, everybody know that Comolli is looking at the Bellamy deal and Kenny is the one who found Coates.

Ooh ooh, FB status update says Liverpool FC!

If this is Diego Caniggia's first 'catch' as our South American scout, his future targets may be worth anticipating.

11+ million on Dann/Cahill or 7 million on this lad, who could very well become a monster Defender?

I'm not surprised there has been a lot of buy in, in spite of ;ack of proper knowledge....it's the power of a good idea.

coates is tailer made for our team and will have the CB position sewn up for years to come. darn, what a signing!!
Personally I woudl have preferred an Iraqi defender like Ali Rehema

Rorysmith_tel

Clarification: #LFC have submitted the only formal bid to Nacional for Coates. It has not yet been accepted. City + 1 other monitoring.

I reckon we cannot afford Cahill, because I'm guessing we've only got around £10-11M left to spend, and that's why we're looking abroad.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing

Who knows which centre back is our prefered target. We could have wanted this lad all along, there were rumours we were looking at him earlier this summer aswell.

Cahill apperantly wants over 100k in wages aswell according to some journos.

If he does join, and if that Facebook update is anything to go by or be believed then it's done, then this will have been a very stealth transfer that has come out of left field and just sort of happened.

I know that's how we've said we're gonna do business from now on, but who has that really happened with so far?

Downing? Nope
Henderson? Yeah, I think it was pretty sudden, wasn't it?
Enrique? Nope
Adam? Nope

Is that his real FB page? Footballers must have loads of fake accounts on all sorts of platforms.

Think its a fake account, but love how fans welcome him to our club by spelling his name wrong.

The fb pages is blag appaz. Or not official. But the general feel is that the fees agreed. He was 3.7 mil before the copa. Appaz it's just the medical. He's training this morning (urgay time/abaa now our time) with nic. So shit could happen tonight. What's the score with a medical? Would LFC sort a medical over there? Or jet the massive-looks-like-he-ate-Lucas bastard over here?

This is taken from Coates' FB status, surely it mean something?

taken from google translate:

They are the last hours of "Sheba" Coates in Uruguay. Your destination is Liverpool, where he will partner "predator" Suarez. Luck "Seba", National is your house and the door is always open.
Finally, given that much was discussed. Sebastian Coates National will undertake a new challenge in an important team like Liverpool, where you have other obligations.
Seba debuted the first in the bag on April 18, 2009 at Bella Vista and conditions surprised all National swollen. With only 18 years got the team on his shoulder and began to reap praise.
A week later he scored his first goal in the first and since then it stopped.
In total he played 53 games with the national jersey, made 6 goals and was captain on several occasions despite his young age.
As the team was summoned to the U-20, being the captain of the combined South American and participated in the World category.
