1.96m tall. Same height as Sami and shares the same birthday too. Omens are good!
Not that it really matters, but is it definitely right that he's the same height as Hyypia? This guy looks freakishly big in some pictures, and Sami, while tall, never really looked like that to me. Strange.
I met Sami in town once, we was fucking HUGE. I say met, I literally walked into him, at about chest height.

He looked like a demon from a manga film up close, no shit.
Yeah, I always thought Sami was like 6ft 4.

Whatever, this guy cannot possibly be as good. Personally I'm just hoping he's better than Paletta.

"I chose Liverpool because It's a great team in a major league. "
Did he actually say that modo or is it yet another hilarious fucking wind up.
Nope it's more or less a straight intrepretation from a Spanish article. Sorry at work can't find the link. Not a wind up.
Apparently he's said farewell to his fans. Found it on RAWK.

The newspaper from Uruguay inform tha Atletico de Madrid offered more money than Liverpool for Coates.
The newspaper El Pais of Uruguay said:

...''

Atletico de Madrid offered USA $ 13 millones for Coates.

The contract with Liverpool was not signed, but everybody think the offer will be rejected cause the player refused to accept a higher offer from de Ukraine team Dnipro as he wishes to play just for Liverpool.
The player left yesterday for England to sign his contract with Liverpool.
we give AM patcheco and that's how they repay us :🙂

if we get this lad and Bellers we have had an excellent window, maybe not in terms of marquee signings that some wanted to see, but in terms of clearly making a better team and more importantly in many ways building the squad quality and cover in key areas.
People really are getting carried away thinking we can realistically win the league this year, but fourth is an achievable target, and would be fantastic.
If we do get CL next year and then be able to attract a top drawer signing or two to add to this squad then you start having a league challenging team.

I think what makes me happy is, indeed I don't believe we can win the league, however I do believe we can comfortably get in the top four.

This Athletico Madrid stuff better be bollocks, I want Coates!

it wont be 'comfortable', arsenal are more than capable of going on a run, spurs will be strong and we are more than capable of dropping silly points.

I agree completely, really excellent window. I'm not utterly convinced that all of the players we signed represent good financial value but it has been a complete overhaul of teh team and FSG need to be applauded for really pushing the boat out investment wise. I'm not so convinced that we cant win it this year.... I see no real reason to right us off yet, other teams also have a few probelms and no team is he finished settled article.... IF we really click and get lucky with form and injuries we do have a shout.

As for Coates his interview in the airport i just watched was very encouraging.
for the spanish speakers... he has clearly been on the lash before leaving also....

"Dejo muchos amigos y muchos compañeros", dijo Coates sobre Nacional

basically he is sad to leave such fond memories, but the deal was a good one for both the club and for him and he's looking forward to being as big a hit as Suarez.... he says its a dream for him... everything he says points to him signing for Liverpool basically and there was no other team mentioned.

I would want an answer to this as well.

His plane landed at Heathrow this morning. Currently doing his medical and the club hope to announce it tonight. According to another site we've been working on his work permit for a while.

What Atletico bid? For the big fucker?

Yeah, Atletico bid €13m & he told them he wasn't interest so Nacional rejected it.

Suarez has done us a huge favour off the pitch if this lad is as good as he's meant to be.

Oh, didn't know about the Atletico bid. I'm glad we're signing him even without seeing him play.

Was the talk about him having a Spanish passport just bs?

I think he was going to use it to fall back on if he needed to.

You know what?! I don't care if in 4-5 years if Suarez did go to Barca... He's a fucking top bloke. He puts everything into his current clubs.

Well done Luis if indeed you did play a massive part in turning Coates head towards us.
