Salah, the man for the big/all occasions

I was surprised to hear he's younger than Neymar the other day. with Messi and Ronaldo both over 30, he could have a clear run at being #1 at some point in the next few seasons.

In his first season and a half at Liverpool - Suarez scored 15 league goals.

Salah is going to finish this season with twice as many, in two thirds the time.
And with a better season than Suarez has ever had.

All without the stupidity of Suarez.

It's a no brainer.

Do you consider attacking midfielders/second strikers with better goal records than Maradona to be superior players to him?
Do you consider Kevin Philips to have been a better player than Firmino?

As I said its very early days. Salah will have better stats but Suarez just had this freak of nature talent. It's great to have a new world class player.

Neymar is crying like a bitch and may be sold . Which team could afford the £200m to buy him is another question.
If he is sold I can imagine PSG making a world record bid for Salah

Real will sell ronaldo and bale this summer. That should bring in enough so they can get Neymar.

All shite

Little brother was at Twickenham for the Eng/ Ire game on some jolly that he came down for.

He didn't venture out of the box once to watch the game ("too cold") and the only correspondence was: "Full of cunts this place"

I'm not sure why he bothered, although I suspect he just wanted to go out on the lash in Soho on Friday, and this was a handy excuse. Rugby is just shit.

i think Salah is better than Suarez.

Baseball ? Equestrian ? Nascar ? Curling ? Ski Jumping ?

The winner of the Ski Jumping world cup this year, Kamil Stock from Poland, is a Liveprool fan. On telly after winning the Raw Air tournament he was presented With a Liverpool shirt and looked over the moon. For some reason it was Carra who had signed to him so he might want to look for some spit....

Real, Barca and Abu Dhabi City.

That's probably about it, unless Abramovich decides to open up his wallet.

Chelsea's stadium is thought to cost £1bn. Barca has spent the Neymar money already and is thought to have only £60m for summer spend plus sales. City have spent something like £300m, if they forked another £200m would they pass FFP?

It's great that we had Suarez and that we now have Salah but 'freak of nature talent'
Some of Salahs goals have been nuts he's made defenders looks like idiots falling over themselves and just unable to keep up with his pace.
He's curled in from the wing after taking on players, smashed in volleys, ran the length of the pitch, tap in, headers etc

Praying he keeps on playing for us and keeps up the level and Intensity.

I mean, i couldn't care less if Suarez had more skill or made things look prettier, Salah is breaking all of his goal scoring records, without biting people or being racist in the process.

Both phenomenal players but I wouldn't swap them as things stand (2013 Suarez )

Even in the super-ego environment of a Premier League dressing room there comes a point when you just have to acknowledge a special talent and Salah’s four goals in the 5-0 win over Watford was that moment.
In some ways it was reminiscent of Luis Suarez, a former Anfield favourite, who achieved the feat against Norwich in 2013; in others—specifically his first and third goals—it was Lionel Messi-like.
Salah left the pitch clutching the match ball after his first hat-trick in a red shirt and by the time he left the ground it had been covered in messages from his team-mates.
“Everyone did the ball for him. I just kept it simple for him. I just said ‘Well done superstar’,” said Henderson.
Salah now has 36 goals this season and 28 in the Premier League, four better than Tottenham’s Harry Kane and the best return in Europe’s big five leagues.
After his four-goal salvo against Watford comparisons were inevitably made with Suarez but Henderson was reluctant to contribute.
“They are both fantastic players in their own right and you can’t compare them,” he added.
“They are different players. I know they score a lot of goals and both work hard off the ball but it is very difficult to make that comparison.
“Luis moved on to Barcelona and is doing fantastically well. He is a fantastic player who I was privileged to play with.
“But Mo this season has been unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. He is doing it every week, without fail.”
The effect Salah has on the team is, however, similar to the one Suarez had when he almost dragged Liverpool over the line in their failed title challenge in 2013/14.
“It’s the confidence,” said Henderson.
“You have someone like Mo who does the hardest part of the game, which is putting the ball in the back of the net.
“Then, as a team, if we work as hard as we possibly can, Mo—or even Sadio and Bobby are going to finish it in the final third.
“We had that with Luis. You know when you are walking out there are so many goals out there for you.
“It’s just about defending well as a team because you know you will create chances.”

Five Premiership teams were in the CL until last week, he's done it against big European sides. Chelsea, Spurs and City have all been on the end of his goals this season.

I'm not sure why you try so fucking hard to be the site cynic. No one is saying he's the best player ever, but if he's drawing these sort of comparisons, it's probably for good reason and not because some bellend with a Youtube account has scouted him as the Egyptian Messi before he's kicked a competitive ball.

Site cynic? I've said since May that we would be a great shout to win the CL.

I've never said he wasn't having an incredible season, I was simply saying to talked about in the same breadth as the worlds best he still has a lot to do.

It's hardly a criticism, the fact some are starting to make those comparisons shows exactly how great a debut season he is having.

Long may it continue
