Alexis Sanchez and Eden hazard are out of contract, we could finally pair up two of the hottest wide forwards from 5 years so to replace Mo

Saudi TV going all in saying Salahs last game for us is tomorrow..

Eh? Wheres the bid?

Put up or fuck off.

Past caring at this point whether he goes or stays, everything about football just has that meh feeling about it.

Also past caring, we just need to get properly remunerated for a player of his profile at such a late stage in the window

The made up deadline of Monday does stink of deliberate disruption though, it’s not like they have an extra 2 weeks of window to sort things out

Move Gakpo to the right, put Nunez upfront. Problem solved, everyone's happy and we finish 8th.

Seriously though, we can't sell Salah without replacing him and there's not a lot of options out there.

So, unless we've been negotiating behind the scenes for other plasyers, this would be stupid.

TBH, i wouldn't even immediately replace him. Much more important for a CB and CM

Obviously, i hope he doesn't go; but if we're gonna be getting 100m+; it could help us rebuild, same as losing coutinho did

That's the problem, there's no one in world football like him. So it's either hope our current options are good enough to make up for his departure, whilst also improving our squad, or spend heavily on a sub-par replacement

Across Mac, Szob, Jones, Gakpo, Diaz, Jota and of course Nunez; i think we could make up for his loss

Or we don't. TBH at this point i'm past caring.

Agreed, I'm also a bit meh about it.
Same cycle every season it seems. Instead of being proactive like Man C, we instead take chances and wind up playing "catch up" for the remainder of the season.

There’s no way we could’ve possibly known they’d be coming for Mo after they came for hendo and fabs, it’s impossible i tell you!

If we didn't have a backup plan in place for Salah leaving, it's even more embarrassing than the Lavia/Caicedo debacle.

The Arab League is aggressively expanding and we own the rights to their holy grail.
It was inevitable.
Salah like many other +30 players are in it for the money now.
Yeah, he can play another season in England and risk not winning shit or he can triple/quadruple his salary and set up his family for generations. I don't blame Salah.
I know what I would have done.

I want him to stay one more season. But if we get £150m, and then a DM, CB and Bakayoko before the end of the window ... then welcome to Klopp's next CL winning team.

Yup I’d also be asking to go if i were Mo. Hopefully there’s a decent list of replacements sitting there and we’ve told Mo fine but give us this season or until January to replace you.

Salah leaving could be good, but the reason he isn't convinced to stay is that we've not shown any interest in transforming the team so that he's particularly likely to win anything that would raise his profile or get his rocks off.

We have to pitch how we are clearly going in the right direction to someone else. Does klopps "we will give it a proper try, except at the till" work?

I think the best we can do is be a destination for players on the rise. That's fine. But then do it. Invest in scouts more and known talent less. I don't really see much coherent strategy when we are being reactive, and this would fall into that same category.

If we don't already have a list of Salah replacements for this eventuality then we are already fucked. And, a bit more investment in the last three years and no chance Salah leaves. Wed have scraped the cl. It's e not even more investment, it's just timely.

No chance.

People forget the number of goals Salah contributes each season.

Who’s gonna score them goals ? Ben Doak ? Lol

If we buy a right sided attacker that contributed a decent amount of goals, and would defend, we can play with an attacking am, and an actual striker, or with gakpo behind a striker.

The fact that we have had three midfielders covering for our right flank has to do with both Salah and Trent, though only one of them gets the attention so long as they are scoring goals.

I think we can get more goals out of midfield and a new rw than Salah currently scores, and be more defensively solid. Or we could if we bought a better dm and cb that we clearly need.

Basically what Farky said above. I'm very happy should Mo. Stay another season ... but by next season he won't be irreplaceable so £150m + the £100m we obviously have this season would complete the team renovation.
Even a drop off in goal output wouldn't matter if we could tighten up our defence.

I think he’s gone and I don’t think we’re replacing him.

Anything less than £150m and we’re being done - if he is indeed their crown jewel, then they need to cough up an amount that would have Todd Boehly shocked.

As much as I’d like to go out a week long spending spree with the money, I have no faith in our current recruitment team to identify, negotiate effectively and sign replacements.

How did we get from 111m for Caicedo, to 16m for Endo and nobody else? How do we keep our ambitious players? Mind boggling.

From what I have seen from the first 3 rounds of matches, the injuries are not abating. In fact, the suspensions from trigger happy refs are going to increase. The added injury time averages 8-10 mins a half. Our squad is thin bare.

At this rate, we will be talking about playing Nat in Oct, if not earlier.

He’s not getting sold. Fucking hell, calm down.
