Lets see. There are rumored to be more than one club interested for next summer.
So how is that going to work? Those 4 clubs don't buy the player, the Saudi league has as list of players they want and they pick the team he goes to so none of these 4 clubs will compete against each other and even if one of the other clubs who aren't owned by pif could afford mo (which they can't) do you that pif would be happy with that... Wouldn't be wise to piss off a certain Saudi prince....

I havent got a clue. The clubs are 75 % owned by PIF and it was reported over the weekend (see post above) that the biggest news outlet in Saudi said both teams were interested in Salah.

My guess would be that he'll end up at whichever team MBS supports, before being loaned to Newcastle for a nominal fee the following year.

Yeah, look for the part where we all mutually agree we have limited the discussion to China. Then pm me while you're back in time and tell me this is a sad waste of time. Also, since you're back then, you've got to do something about dbs heart. There's still time for it. Since you've got time travel, maybe you could do a magic school bus mixed with millennium falcon in the asteroid thing. Pew pew plaque lasers gooo.
I guess whatever it is you're smoking you really need to kick start your imagination.

Anyway can't be arsed with Snarky Farky any more. Just arrived in Madrid and going to enjoy the tapas. Buenos dias amigo!

Espero que te disfrutes tus vacaciones!

I have to be one of the most boring, sober people on these boards. I rarely ever drink or smoke... for like a decade. I've got a sick kid at home and we're playing castle panic for hours. That's my hallucinogenic lifestyle these days.

Menu del dia at an actually good local place that doesn't do tourist trade much would be the way in Madrid. I spent about 6 months in lavapies, I never really figured out Madrid though, somehow, but I didn't speak a lick of spanish back then.

Haha thanks mate..

Very sorry to hear about your kid - hope it isn't chronic and he /she improves soon.

Our son in law is half Spanish so we've got a list of places to hit. When the wife stops shopping!

We'll look out for a good Menu del dias for the next 2 days (just a short stay - originating our return to China from here rather then London saved us $thousands.

Weird I know but originating the trip from Heathrow is way more expensive than flying Madrid-Heathrow-Shanghai.

Saka, Vinicius and Mbappe are a no go.

We wont be able to find another Mo Salah, so we have to look for the best attacking midfielder/right forward that can suit the rest of our team and tactics.
Salah has taken up a role as a creator in addition to scoring goals and therefor the bar is set pretty high for anyone that comes in.

Bakayoko and Cherki might be to young, but they are both very interesting. Mbuemo has quietly developed into a very good player and is still only 24.
Rodrygo might be the player we could sign from Real (1,5 years left on his deal).

If Salah leaves we'll most likely have a boatload of cash and hopefully we'll sort out a long term sporting director soon so that we can work towards next summer.

Castle panic. Surprisingly stressful until the kids realize it’s cardboard

Buy Bowen, and spend on the defence and anther midfield body

Bowen turns 27 later this year.

Anyway, we won't find a like for like replacement of Salah. He's one of a kind.

For me the alternatives are:
Olise
Neto
Adeyemi
Nico Williams
Bakayoko

I have a soft spot for Neto. I think we've been linked to him before. Left footed, technical, lightning quick, good crosser, good with both feet and already used to the Prem. I think he'd excel with top class players around him.
The only thing that worries me is that he injured his knee two years ago.

Some highlights from the Man U game:

Arse have been after him for a long time too, very good player but like you say the injuries…

Pedro Neto makes Keita look like Superman.

I can't remember the last time he had a stretch of games uninjured

Salah is irreplaceable for us...Name one player that comes close who plays from the right... All we can do is hope to get someone half decent that will make the front three more effective as a unit and chip in with a few goals and I believe that is all we can do, and just hope that "We" find the next Mo Salah

Totally agree. It's just like Suarez, we never managed to find a similar player.
I was gonna say Gerrard but I'm getting Gerrard -vibes from Szobo.

Salah is a legend, and if you could describe generational talent, he fits it. He will be talked about in the same space as Gerrard, Barnes, Fowler, Rush and Souness, a club GOAT.
I think without Salah we are still a threat and can bag goals, our weakness has been defence, we shore up the defence, we are winning more games.
I think the press will link us to the following RW between now and the summer. As I said previously you can filter out all the players that don't play in the PL, Portuguese, German and Dutch leagues. Gonclaves would be an assist King would
Gonclaves (possible)
Olise (possible if under £80m)
Sane (27 on high wages and Bayern would ask £80m, so unlikely)
Raphina (played prem, so maybe, decent stats)
Takefusa Kubo (plays in spain, so unlikely also buyout clause €60m)
Bowen (hopefully not. 27 english and never scored double digits)
Xavi Simons (very possible, he is dutch and plays in the German league, still only 20, the price though is big question mark)
Bryan Mbeumo (possible but anything north of £60m is excessive)
Nico Williams (plays in Spain, so Pep's gonna say no)
Marcus Edwards (he is short fuck, rather stick with elliott)

If we do sell Salah for the figures talked about?
Is he the best pound for pound transfer ever?
Brought for 38m 7yrs ago, scored 188 goals and 76 assists while winning the lot. Potentiall sell for £150m next year and effectively we would have paid (excluding salary/bonus) more than £1 million per goal I guess excluding all the commercial gains etc…

Pedro Neto could be a brilliant signing, but his injury history makes it a risk.
If he has a very good 23/24 then maybe.

Loads of potential.

That boat has sailed. He is like the White Naby, even if he has an injury free season, when he comes to LFC, he reassume his role as a crock.

Nah, Coutinho is the best p4p transfer imo. We bought him for £8.5 mill

Neto's injury history:

Keita:

Keita has three pages worth of injuries. Neto had two bad injuries back to back but it doesn't look anywhere near as bad as Keita's.

Not about winning for me. Just about how much we made.

Depends what we sell for, potentially could be more with Salah.
For me, to evaluate a transfer it has to be about multiple factors including on the field achievements and commercial impact but it’s rate to get all of that.

(Bowen)That could all change in a better team

How can "what Salah does from the right" be irreplaceable when he doesn't do what he did three years ago from the right?
