Players rarely, if ever, stay with the same team from prime to twilight. Even Gerrard fucked off to America.

No one *wants* Salah to go. Its pragmatism to ensure we don't fall by the side as more and more teams have stupid money

If it was a month ago it wouldn't even have been a debate. Definitely get both sides on this one.

There's no guarantee he'll stay fit or that we'll get the same offer. But he's the best we have right now.

As a fan I don't want him to leave. If I was a trained actuary and hedge fund propellerhead sat in Boston I'd be sorting out the best terms.
I agree with all that. In an ideal world, he'd see out the rest of his career with us, with a glorious send off after his final game. And we wouldn't even have to think about cashing in on our best player so we can compete with the teams around us. But I don't think Salah will finish his career here and his best days are behind him. And our owners are clearly not going to break their model no matter how much the team needs investment. So if there's silly money on the table, we've got to consider it.

There's no way Salah is finishing his career with us. He's not the kind of player who will accept a bit-part role in the team, even in his twilight years. The minute he isn't first choice, he'll be out the door. I give it two years, max.
Who says he can’t remain first choice til 34/35?

From what I saw, he never went up and smiled at the fans after scoring today, I think he knows that the club will cash in on him if the right offer comes in next week.

I think he'll probably stay. Especially after seeing that we've now got a better team than last season.

One more season Mo, win the treble, AFCON and then sell him for 300M minimum.

Yeah it's childlike from me but I'd love him to win loads this season and get a heroes sendoff. we didnt have one of those in a while - Suarez and Torres fucked off and Gerrard left at the end of a 6-1 loss to Stoke

Klopp asked if Liverpool's position re: Mo Salah will remain the same until the end of the Saudi transfer window. "Yup."

1. He can’t leave on the last day of the window with no thoughtful replacement
2. We can’t turn down a huge offer (200m+)
3. There’s head games going on here with the Saudis testing us with verbal prices to set the market for when they are serious next year. And there’s maybe some related NcFc head games going on here to possibly weaken a rival.

so waiting definitely make sense. We currently have all the power with this one. We won’t after June. His management team may try to tick the clock down if we wait till next summer.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was one of the few in Europe willing to reject a lucrative Saudi offer this summer and he sent a mocking response to Al-Hilal’s proposal for Victor Osimhen.

A long list of clubs across Europe accepted rich proposals from various Saudi Arabian clubs this summer, cashing in on their stars like Gabri Veiga and Riyadh Mahrez as well as offloading their unwanted players like Edouard Mendy and Franck Kessie.

A handful of top stars rejected Saudi offers this summer including Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, making Victor Osimhen the dream transfer of many Saudi Pro League clubs. Al-Hilal sent Napoli a €200m offer but it was rejected, keeping the striker in Campania.

L’Equipe via TMW details how De Laurentiis never considered accepting Al-Hilal’s lucrative offer for Osimhen, a position he made clear in his response.

The Napoli president sent an email to Al-Hilal representatives with a mocking reply, writing: “Your €200m offer can buy a single foot of Osimhen. For next year, I think you’ll be able to offer €500m and we’ll probably consider your offer, but I’ll repeat myself: maybe.”
