Sakho out of France squad

Answer to what? If Sakho is out for a long while, presumably it's Skrtel and Lovren as first choice. So do you think Klopp will find a genuinely top class experienced CB in January? I don't. If not, then it's down to a younger player as back up. Do you think a really good prospect will come in this January? It's surely doubtful. And we already have Gomez earmarked for that role next season. In which case, for the season, I'd say we may as well use Ilori as back up. That's my answer. If it's not yours, what's your question?

Exactly, we've got no choice. Lovren clearly isn't the answer either though, so we may aswell pose a question with Ilori, or whoever.

New CB needed in Jan then. Can't go on with lovern and toure in reserve. Not a coincidence that we lost once lovern came on yesterday Throw in a new keeper also

That's a bit selective - in fact we were losing 1-0 when Sakho came off, and equalized shortly after Lovren came on - is that a coincidence?

It's now nine months - count 'em - since the club started its search for a new senior club doctor and we're still relying on an experienced stand-in we brought over from the Academy. It's positively Parry-esque, this sleepy behaviour. You'd think all these injury worries would add some urgency to the process, but apparently not.

2 of those ACL injuries have come in games were the players landed akwardly. No team doctor could have changed that imho.
But its insane that we havent hired one yet.

Skrtel wishing Sakho a speedy recovery on his Instagram.

Doesnt bode well. He'll be out for the season,

News now is that it's not an ACL, despite idiots on twitter re-tweeting 'definitive' info from teenagers and wind-up merchants.

Sakho scan results revealed: Liverpool FC defender facing period on sidelines
French defender has not damaged his anterior cruciate ligament but will see consultant on Tuesday to assess length of absence

Mamadou Sakho has been told he hasn't suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury – but the Liverpool defender is still facing a spell on the sidelines.
A scan on Monday afternoon eased fears that the France international's season could be over after he limped out of Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield.
However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has yet to discover exactly how long he will be without the in-form centre-back.
That will become clearer on Tuesday when Sakho sees a consultant on Merseyside who will diagnose the full extent of the injury and determine how best to treat it.

While Sakho hasn't ruptured his ACL, the scan did show up some damage to the joint in his right knee. Klopp will be desperately hoping that surgery isn't required.
Sakho, who landed awkwardly in the first half following an aerial challenge with Palace's Yannick Bolasie, has had to drop out of the France squad for their internationals against Germany and England.
Jordon Ibe was also hurt in the defeat to Palace but a scan has revealed that he only suffered bruising to his knee following a collision.
The teenage winger won't travel to Bosnia for England Under-21s' Euro 2017 qualifier on Thursday.
However, Ibe is expected to be fit for Liverpool's next Premier League game against Manchester City at the Etihad on November 21.

Can't see us going for any other central defender than Subotic in January. Almost every manager need a player that know his system.

Great. Lovren and Skrtel it is then.

Poor Klopp has not had much luck on the injury front.

Could have been much much worse though.
Thought it was definetly more serious.

Awful losing him though. Our injury list is insane at the moment.

I would break the bad news to Can and stick him at the back again. Or I'd break the good news to Gerrard and bring him back as a defender.

If Gerrard comes back as any emergency cover it should be as a striker. Not that I'm advocating that but bringing him back to 'help' our defence based on the last couple of seasons would be crazy.

Ah, 6-8 weeks, the pat response recovery time for a nameless injury. It's nice to see the classics still have a place.

Sakho was pretty important in us playing well recently, and we clearly missed him as soon as Lovren came on the pitch. This isn't a slight against Lovren, who didn't really do anything wrong, but Sakho is just much better with the ball, and his passing helped us control the game.

If he could stay injury free, he'd be such an incredible defender.

Subotic has hardly played this season. At 26 you'd be surprised if Klopp doesnt move for him in January if he's available.
Kolo will be gone next summer and Lovren has a big fight on his hands to impress in these next few months.
