Just thinking aloud; the dude can defend, spray passes and we need a player in front of the defence who can do that imho.

He is an incoherent passer who looks uncomfortable on the ball. Time and time again he makes bad decisions as soon as he is under the least bit of pressure. We desperately need a CB who can carry the ball and connect passes up field, even under a little pressure.

I can't see how he could ever learn that at this stage. He would be a disaster at DM imo.

The day Sakho will no longer be part of LFC will be a good day indeed.
Our team has been in a constant state of stress ever since Suarez left and when Sakho out there on the pitch he's not helping us reduce that stress.

Cool story, not true though.

I usually wait half a season or so before judging a player but made my mind up with Sakho after 2 or 3 games and nothing I've seen since has changed my mind............he's dodgy and we need better.

This thread affords me a place to suggest this:

ILori could be reinvented as a DM. From what I've seen of his young career and loan spells, he's shown tons of promise as a pacy, elegant CB without convincing managers of his ability to tough it out as one of a pair of premier league CBs up against the likes of physical forwards.

Give him a go as a tall, quick, intelligent DM in front of the back four in the mould of a Matic etc. I haven't lost hope that there's a player there.

Has he even played for the reserves yet?

There are very few examples in recent football history of centre backs becoming DM's successfully. It tends to happen the other way around these days - Javi Martinez, Mascherano etc.

Playing in a midfield is very different to the last line of defense, and your ball movement and thinking has to be much quicker.

Sakho at DM would be lunacy

I can totally understand why this hyperbolic post hasn't garnered a single 'Like'.

Still, it's a no to Sakho at DM.

Lucas needs to concentrate on doing those surging runs into the opposition's box. The club has to work with the tools its got and we have a few tools missing. So if we don't have a hammer we have to use a tool that can sort of do the job. I mean if i can't find a hammer I use a spanner, it does the job.

I'm glad you're not our manager.

Or the person who puts shelves up in my house.

As for the premise, Lucas, who has only scored ONE league goal in his entire career for us, making surging runs into the box. Completely fucking ridiculous & futile.

Sakho was limping throughout the West Ham game, didn't look fit to me at all. In fact the whole team looked very leaden legged in the first half, desperate in need of a week off, I don't hold up much hope for tonight
