SACK RODGSON

Weird, innit?

Yeah, after a couple wins it will change again and he'll be just what we need going forward.
But what the hell. Lets sack him. Who cares about giving people time.
Sacking a manager per year will obviously make us champions.
Next season it should be Ancelotti. 2014 it could be Lawrie Sanchez. 2015 maybe Paul Dickov. 2016 should be Roberto Di Matteo.

I don't get the anxiety about such critics. If someone genuinely has faith in Rodgers, great, sit back and contemplate the day when all the critics will be proven wrong. Why the fussing and worrying about what the critics say? None of it MEANS anything. FSG don't give a toss about forums that have people moaning. Relax.

Nah I don't see the point in sacking Rodgers. We've got a decent team to be honest. Our youth players will be a year older next season, we'll be more organized and we'll most likely do much better.

This season will be a lot worse (probably) than last year under Kenny and we didnt keep him.
Im not too sure he deserves to stay.

I've seen us at our best and our worst. So I'm excited and worried. Will it be fixed, I'm not sure. Maybe Kelly will turn out to be the best CB in England.
Not likely but I like our squad we need to do some minor changes but I think Rodgers can do it.

I don't see many people calling for him to be sacked but if you're not very worried by what you're seeing then you're off your fucking head.
I'm concerned that he doesn't seem to be picking up the pieces as much as he should be, and theres stil la lot of flaws in our play (primarily the midfield), so i can completely understand the scepticism and concern.

For the moment i'm still confident he'll turn it around given the time, it just depends if hes afforded it

A cause of concern is valid .Pressing the panic button now however is not being realistic.Next season and a top four finish target and a good showing in cup matches is a must to save the manager from the sack.

The problem for me is that there aren't obvious signs of progress. There are problems throughout the team: we concede too many, we get dominated in midfield, we don't createt many chances. It would be one thing if we were shipping goals but playing scintillating football, but we just aren't. At this stage under Houllier and Benitez there were some obvious signs of progress - you could at least make out the direction of travel.

Right now all we've got is blind hope. At least that's how it seems to me. I don't want him sacked, but it'd be nice to at least see something to rally behind.

Getting possession back within six or seven seconds, taking it as a personal insult any time you lose the ball, moving with intelligence and patience, subjecting other teams to death by football... I don't see that attitude, that commitment, that understanding within the team, rather than hearing about it off the pitch. It's words without deeds. And then there's the plan - one week it's going to take years, the next he thinks the team can get back in the top four within months, the next he's back to the long view, he seems all over the place. There's no coherence, just isolated moments of optimism.

Spot on. My biggest issue with rodgers is that he doesn't seem to be learning from his mistakes as he keeps repeating them over and over again. Even though we need steel in midfield we all know he's not gonna go and buy any. We may play some fancy stuff at times, but i wouldn't really say we've made much progress. I was expecting more progress by now. Tactically he's not great either.

To be honest i'm just sick and tired of his interviews. i don't even listen to them anymore. I just wish he would stop giving so many interviews and statements. The time for talk is over. I don't care about the talk, I want to see the action. Do your talking on the pitch.

The talk about the necessity of enduring a slow rebuilding period reminds me of the talk about how we couldn't and shouldn't expect any better than Downing for 20M in our position.

I don't think anyone doubts that we are in a period of transition, but it does seem like it's fairly criminal to have any expectations about how that transition should be managed and what kind of progress we should be seeing this year.

This idea that everything will be solved by buying a new defence (and at this rate a replacement for Suarez) in the summer is a little naive.

Everything will be solved by having a manager and a group of players that under his guidance can overachieve. Right now it feels that we are worse than the sum of our parts and I'd like to see that change.

Rodgers has his work cut out for him thats for sure, but sacking him isnt the answer at all.
He should be given time to put things right and have more than 6 months to implement his approach and tactics.

People have very short memories if you cant see any progress. Our league form last season was horrific and we had the lowest amount of home wins, goals and points since Churchill was a wee lad.

We've had some ups and downs so far - as expected. The ups have been very good and at times we've looked an exciting team in the making. Our lows have been bad and when we're shite we are horrible.
We cant win a game on a shite day to save our lives.

As I've said a few times already, in our last 13 games we've got a better points tally than we've achieved since 2009. If that cant be viewed as some sort of progress than......

Rodgers will be here next season regardless as the owners arent gonna sack him. They are however going to back him so that we can add better players to the side.

What I can say though is that I really hope he can see what we're lacking, and will fix that this summer.
We're unbalanced in many games in midfield and he has to solve that. We also lack a couple of CBs.

If he doesnt see that and wont adress it in the summer, I'll be moving away from the pro Rodgers camp.

I don't know where i'd move (if we win say 8 of the first 10 games despite not 'addressing the issues' I feel we have, I will forget the issues! 😉 But yes, one hopes he'll learn the lessons and do what is needed in the summer to ensure the team can take its level up a few notches.

Really Hansern. Is that spring of 2012 the only milestone to measure progress against? Is that fucked up period of time the only stae of art this club has been in?

People talk here as we are fucking newbies and not entitled expect anything. A win against Norwich or Fulham is supposed to be greated as triumphs we never have seen before, and they are proof of the huge step forwards we are taking under this young manager that has lead the mighty Swans and Reading to great hights.

Which successful English team is Rodger's hoping to emulate with the composition of squad he is putting together and the style of football he seems determined to make us play?

All I will say is that my evertonian mates (people have met these and can validate what they know about football) laugh their fucking head off every time BR talks and some of the shite he comes out with. "Reverse forward" being the main one.

I don't like being Laughed at by evertonians.

I'm feeling a hint of desperation in his post match interviews now, it's the same old story most games and the journo's keep hitting over the head with it. He knows he's not got any real answers in these interviews.
On the pitch and with the squad, I think he's got us moving in the right direction, but it's turned it to be a slooooooooow process. Most on here wanted Rome in a day. I thought we'd be a little further along than we are though.

We're on course for 52 points. That isn't progress.

This season they must be laughing a lot.

Whereas with Kenny, we weren't a laughing stock. He never embarrassed us with his interviews. Aye.

Fact of the matter is, we're a very average football team atm and Rodgers needs to be given sufficient time to hopefully turn us into a good one.

Some people see positive signs, others dont - fair enough. But those who aren't behind him, will look for everything and anything to fed their arguments in what is by all accounts a transitional season after a depressing few years.

Rodgers is by no means immune from criticism, of course he's not, but at the same time, a bit of a reality check is needed. This time next year we can properly judge Rodgers imo.

What does concern me, is some of his signings. They really need to come good for him. If they don't, he leaves himself open to stick because a manager will always be judged by the players he brings in.

What exactly are you basing this on ? The core of our senior players have been here for a few seasons now , people seem to rate them highly, yet the team has had finishes of 7th,6th , 8th and christ knows what this season . Only Sturridge from Rodgers' signings has shown signs of being a success (coutinho exempt of course ) . Some of the younger lads have promise but aren't half as good as people think .

So hey you might be right , we might come good but right now how you can claim us a decent team i don't know .
