**bump** 😀
The forum will probably boil over with sack Rodgers comments tonight
Weird, innit?
I'm concerned that he doesn't seem to be picking up the pieces as much as he should be, and theres stil la lot of flaws in our play (primarily the midfield), so i can completely understand the scepticism and concern.I don't see many people calling for him to be sacked but if you're not very worried by what you're seeing then you're off your fucking head.
Spot on. My biggest issue with rodgers is that he doesn't seem to be learning from his mistakes as he keeps repeating them over and over again. Even though we need steel in midfield we all know he's not gonna go and buy any. We may play some fancy stuff at times, but i wouldn't really say we've made much progress. I was expecting more progress by now. Tactically he's not great either. The problem for me is that there aren't obvious signs of progress. There are problems throughout the team: we concede too many, we get dominated in midfield, we don't createt many chances. It would be one thing if we were shipping goals but playing scintillating football, but we just aren't. At this stage under Houllier and Benitez there were some obvious signs of progress - you could at least make out the direction of travel.
Right now all we've got is blind hope. At least that's how it seems to me. I don't want him sacked, but it'd be nice to at least see something to rally behind.
To be honest i'm just sick and tired of his interviews. i don't even listen to them anymore. I just wish he would stop giving so many interviews and statements. The time for talk is over. I don't care about the talk, I want to see the action. Do your talking on the pitch.Getting possession back within six or seven seconds, taking it as a personal insult any time you lose the ball, moving with intelligence and patience, subjecting other teams to death by football... I don't see that attitude, that commitment, that understanding within the team, rather than hearing about it off the pitch. It's words without deeds. And then there's the plan - one week it's going to take years, the next he thinks the team can get back in the top four within months, the next he's back to the long view, he seems all over the place. There's no coherence, just isolated moments of optimism.
If he doesnt see that and wont adress it in the summer, I'll be moving away from the pro Rodgers camp.
Rodgers has his work cut out for him thats for sure, but sacking him isnt the answer at all.
He should be given time to put things right and have more than 6 months to implement his approach and tactics.
People have very short memories if you cant see any progress. Our league form last season was horrific and we had the lowest amount of home wins, goals and points since Churchill was a wee lad.
We've had some ups and downs so far - as expected. The ups have been very good and at times we've looked an exciting team in the making. Our lows have been bad and when we're shite we are horrible.
We cant win a game on a shite day to save our lives.
As I've said a few times already, in our last 13 games we've got a better points tally than we've achieved since 2009. If that cant be viewed as some sort of progress than......
Rodgers will be here next season regardless as the owners arent gonna sack him. They are however going to back him so that we can add better players to the side.
What I can say though is that I really hope he can see what we're lacking, and will fix that this summer.
We're unbalanced in many games in midfield and he has to solve that. We also lack a couple of CBs.
If he doesnt see that and wont adress it in the summer, I'll be moving away from the pro Rodgers camp.
All I will say is that my evertonian mates (people have met these and can validate what they know about football) laugh their fucking head off every time BR talks and some of the shite he comes out with. "Reverse forward" being the main one.
I don't like being Laughed at by evertonians.
This season they must be laughing a lot.
Nah I don't see the point in sacking Rodgers. We've got a decent team to be honest. Our youth players will be a year older next season, we'll be more organized and we'll most likely do much better.
