Higuain for £10m

hahaha
probably could have done that deal in the summer. and i wanted it to happen.
Same here, he's a cracking player. There's no way we'd get him for £10m now, though

go back a few post's and you will see it for your self some one saying about sammy taking over till end of season

There's no chance the Americans will consider Sammy Lee.

In fact he'll probably be sacked.

The only thing worse than Rafa not being sacked would be Rafa being sacked and Sammy Lee or Pellegrino being given the job as caretaker. We'd end up closer to the relegation zone than the top four.

From a podcast today:

Gary Megson's last 20 games: 7 wins, 6 draws, 7 losses.

Rafa Benitez's last 20 games: 6 wins, 4 draws, 10 losses.

I feel like I did at the end of Ged's reign... Very, very sad.

Because it's come to this. Because it means he / we have failed. Because I like Rafa. Because I thought he'd win us the title. Because I no longer believe in him. Because I thinkit's the right thingto do. Because we are wasting the talents of three or four of the planet's greatest players. Because I see no other way out...

Like many, I've had severe doubts for about 2 seasons now, but now it maybe upon us, it's just sad.

You shouldn't start sentences with "because" and certainly not eight times in a row. Didn't you enjoy being top of the league just a year ago and the tremendous charge after Utd after the January shit spell? I know I did.

I actually think that Rafa isn't finished, not by a long way. He has to deal with his blind spots such as Lucas and Insua, foolish formations and shitty substitutions but it's not his fault that Gerrard and Torres haven't been fit all season and that his captain has done a shite job when the going's been tough. Beach balls, injuries, late goals, last minute goals, injury time goals, robbing Yank bastard owners, Ronnie fucking Whelan, he's having an incredibly hard time at the moment and his confidence has taken a battering but he hasn't become a shit manager overnight.

Does the saying "Form is temporary, class is permanent" only apply to players?

While I agree with quite a bit of that, using late goals as some hard luck story is stretching it a bit Wilco. It's not unlucky, it's shit defending, a lack of concentration.

And to be fair, out of the six years he's been here, he's put up one decent challenge at the title. He's not shit as some are making out but he's not brilliant either.

Several things Wilko...

1. Actually, I didn't really enjoy being top of the league last year, because it was our form whilst top that ultimately cost us the title, and though I prayed I was wrong, I could see it coming, even in December and January. And though I did enjoy our form from February onwards, it was always in the back of my mind that it was too little, too late.

2. His blind spots have cost us enormously. Awful formations, dodgy tactics and baffling substitutions are a very large part of why we didn't win the title last year and why we're languishing where we are today.

3. You can only bemoan bad luck so much... Late goals and injury-time goals are no more "bad luck" than our late winners of last season were "good luck". We're conceeding late / injury-time goals mainly because we're playing with no self-belief and our defense is a shambles. It's not bad luck that Carra's having a dreadful season or that Insua couldn't mark a one-legged granny. The beach ball WAS unfortunate, but in reality, we lost only one point as a result of that insanity, our performance that day was sooooo bad.

4. Injuries - Fair enough. But who's fault is it that our squad is sooo thin? At least partially...

5. Our owners cannot be the reason for every little problem that we're having. Some of it - like the lack of motivation of the highly paid international professionals that make up our first team - falls at the feet of the manager. It's not the owners' fault that we had two or three real chances in 210 minutes of football against a team that's struggling to stay in the Championship. Nor is it their fault that Rafa continues to play Lucas at CM instead of dropping Stevie G back there, etc...

6. What has Ronnie Whelan got to do with anything? He cares and he wants Rafa out. So do most other LFC fans that I know right now... He's not said anything that many of us haven't echoed - It's not like he's called him a cunt or anything.

7. Form is temporary, etc... well, unless it becomes permament, I suppose. Five times now out of Rafa's six seasons with us, we've been out of the title chase in December. Last season aside, we're a cup team under him. We've not had one single consistently strong from-start-to-finish season under Rafa. And he's shown no signs of guiding us to one next season or beyond. And after 20 years of watching others lift the league, isn't that saying losing some of it's relevance?

8. I'm aware that you don't start sentences with "because", but we're on an internet forum, not sitting our leaving certs, mate.

As I said above, I like Rafa, and I'm sad it's comes to this. But it has. And much of it is his own doing. You can't blame bad luck and shithead owners for everything.

John Aldridge has been doing the same this week. However, an undercover hack from The News Of The Screws has been doing a bit of mooching about and found out that Aldo was actually a Utd fan as a lad. He used to sneak onto the 1.05pm Lime Street to Victoria every Saturday then walk the rest of the way to watch his heroes at Old Trafford. So luckily for us, we can discount Aldo's opinion on the situation.

They are pretty serious flaws for a top class manager, particular being volunteered by a self-confessed Rafa-ite, Wilko 😉
He hasn't become a shit manager over night that is true.

Oh God yeah. Apparently Radio City are considering ending his contract as a match commentator.
