There was an interview with Rafa on Radio City's news section this morning. He was saying that he picked his strongest team and that it's not always the manager's fault. I totally agree with him. The players have to show some pride and guts. Unfortunately, they are his players and he is responsible for motivating them. If he can't then it's a lost cause and a change is needed. He sounded like a defeated man looking to deflect the blame and attention elsewhere.

Ultimately the blame lays at his feet imo

He looked like a beaten man last night in his interview after the match. Like a little boy lost.
[/quote]

Would you have preferred him to be ecstatic?

That wasn't what he was trying to say.

Forget will he/won't he/should he/shouldn't he for a moment...

if he did go then would Kenny really take it temporarily? I'd be very surprised, though I guess stranger things have happened.

i don't think he will tbh

Looking at Kenny yesterday in the stands, he didn't look in the best of health? Maybe he was suffering from a cold or flu, but he's been away from management for a while now and I'm not so sure he could handle the pressures of management again.

I would expect a show of defiance, some passion and maybe a public stoning of his weak and spineless team. Not a big fat bottom lip or a woodlouse on its' back.

Well I have just heard a whisper from a good source that he has resigned. Don't shoot the messenger.

I'm not so sure. On a caretaker basis only (and I can't see it even being considered on any other basis) I think he might do it if asked.

Quite so, but Kenny just seems a really bad idea to me.

Or maybe Dantes was right all along and Xabi will come back as player manager?

I wouldn't believe the rumours for a moment.
No way any human, in any line of work, is going to walk away from that amount of cash.
He'll stay and force the boards hand.

Are you gonna change your username if he goes?

Saint - appointing the King permanently would be a terrible idea, but I don't believe for one minute than anybody (the man himself included) would contemplate it anyway. Appointing him to tide us over until the right permanent appointment can be made, though, I would be quite happy with. He wouldn't be under the kind of pressure that sapped his spirit back in the day, the players would pick up on that, and I reckon everybody in and around the club would get a big lift.

Stu - one would think so, but Rafa's a very, very proud guy and may not want to wait until he's pushed out if he thinks that's going to happen. I wouldn't bet on him walking, but I don't think it's totally out of the question.

I've also noticed that TLW have been infected with 'rage'. Haha, poor things.

Yeah but we've got Rebel. Same difference. Repetitive troll who pisses everyone off. That's enough to warrant a permanent banning.

Only messin' Rebel.

I would respect Rafa a lot more if he did resign now. Can't believe it will happen though, unless he and the board come to some compromise re the payout.

Personally, I don't think the season is a write-off - we desperately need to get 4th, and if we can just start playing to our potential, we still can. A new manager could give us the spark to do that. I fear if Rafa stays, we are going to end up about 7th, and it'll be a total rebuilding job for whoever comes in.

What's the deal with Hiddink at the moment? Did he take a job at Chelsea? I can't remember. Whether it's actually him or someone else, what we need is someone to come in and do the job for us that he did for Chelsea last season - stabilise the club, motivate the players and get the necessary results.

Hopefully Maria as a big supporter of the club has told Rafa that he's making a bollix of the job and he has to quit and return to Spain.

Her and the kids will follow when the kids finish their education and master the scouse accent.
