Sack Klopp

It's our best shot of a trophy ( Jesus remember them) and it's down the shitter for yet another season after round one. The manager is a Clown, I'd sack him yesterday.

Jesus lads, I know this thread title was a joke, but come on, played our B team in a second tier competition.

We're in the CL this year, and this is our focus. Not the Milk fecking Cup V5.0

Leicester made seven changes from the weekend, so the B team excuse only goes so far.

More than the result, what grates is how TYPICAL how it went down was. Same wasteful dominance, same gifting of goals from nothing and/or idiot mistakes. If we're going to lose, can we at least get something new?

You mean the manager who got us back into the CL after one qualification in 7 years? The one that top players want to play for? Jesus mate, grow a spine, and control that knee.

No knee jerking here I'm afraid, those who know me know I never wanted him anywhere near the job in the first place. He's pure Keeganball. We could have had Ancelotti and we ended up with this clueless man child, it still kills me now, especially when I see him abusing the MATCH GOING fans for having the temerity to voice their opinion. I can't stand him, and before the super fans go all hysterical about holy trinity and supporting the manager two words, Roy Hodgson.

I love Rafa, but that's a terrible idea.
Newcastle fans absolutely love Rafa and one of the things they praise him for is developing and improving players. Newcastle has the youngest squad in the premiership apparently.
Giving Kenny a new contract was a bad idea and in the long run it showed that has been away from football for too long

No point sacking him, he's the best we could get.

Not that good though, is he?

Got the fans onside though, bit like Tony Blair getting Oasis into #10, keep it real and that'll keep em off your back. I'd have good money right now on him never winning a trophy as Liverpool manager. And some will still say he was great, flags in the Kop and all that.

Ho hum.

I've been fairly critical of Klopp so far, mainly cos I'm tired of the abject horror that is watching us try defend even a routine cross into the box. But I don't care about the League Cup and I'm not fussed by this result, I'd rather go out now then 3 rounds later. So in a season where our priorities are the League and the Champions League I don't think it makes much sense to use this as a stick to beat him with.

If we get the same result at the weekend then he's getting into very dangerous territory.

I feel like I'm clinging on more to his achievements at Dortmund than by visible progress of Liverpool. He obviously deserves more time and faith, but if we are defensively no better off in twelve months time then he would have no complaints if he was given the boot. He's got to find a way to tighten us up and sharpish.

I've rarely said this before, but I really am shaking my head at this thread.

We've become plastic fans.

Did anyone in this thread (except the self-proclaimed "king") actually said Klopp should be sacked? I think the general opinion has been quite the opposite, in spite of everybody's obvious frustration. @RedNinja started this thread to open discussion, not to express his opinion as he made clear in the OP.

My biggest concern is the fact that unless we have our very best players in every position available it goes tits up too often.

A suspension or injury to one of our key players and we are goosed.

we are basically resorting to praying nobody gets injured.

All top managers like Conte, Pochettino, Mourinho and Pep took 1 to 2 summers to strengthen their defence and defensive midfield. Flopp on the other hand thinks that in PL, loads of offensive players would win you the title.

We're fucked this season and this going to be his last season with us. Any manager who can't sort his defenders and defence needs to fuck off. This isn't Bundlesliga.

He can fuck off with all his 5 'World Class' defenders next summer.

We could not have had Ancelloti. We approached,he politely declined. It was reported at the time.

Really enjoying the way most on here have been completely ignoring the resident retard.
Fair enough, I can see how it comes across, the perils of venting I suppose. I just don't think he's the man for us, if he proves me wrong then that will be a good thing. I'll leave it at that.

Oh, hey, I think you’re a negative sod but you’re certainly not the resident retard.

Go on then you lot vent it out in here..

(He has not lost my trust yet, far from it..)
Apart from a very small and insignificant few, I don't think anyone was satisfied with our summer transfer business, and nobody wanted us to buy Oxlade-Chamberpot, so I'm not sure why this result would see anyone wanting klopp sacked, any more or less than they did already

Getting beat in this game when playing a second-string side is no surprise, we aren't good enough to do otherwise, but at the same time did anyone expect Klopp to play a full-strength team in a competition that isn't a priority for him or the vast majority of fans?

I had no real complaints with the team he selected, and the players we already knew were shit, were indeed shit, and the rest were mediocre

Only Robertson, Coutinho, and Ward were impressive. And Wooodburn was OK

Indeed. In a way, I'm glad we lost because it is a shit contest which we tend to do well in at the expense of having rested players, not only that but clearly Klopp was pissed off and hopefully that anger can produce a better performance and result away on Saturday.

Sack Klopp?? Nah... stop running threads with pure dizzy cunt titles and full of whinging....we are on a bad run but it certainly isn't catastrophic yet and out of all the competitions we are in I'd rather fuck up in the fucking Carabao.

Support the team and the manager....

Indeed. Threads like this reminds me of why I'm finding myself logging on more and more seldom to this forum.

It's a daft point. It's a forum, people want to talk about how we are doing, that's the whole nature of it. As it is, we're not doing very well and people are talking about our problems and who's to blame. It's only natural, I don't know why you always become so offended by negativity, it's no less offensive or annoying than you and a few other posters who are constantly ultra positive. Or the types who will defend Klopp to the hilt over everything, while they've criticised previous managers over the same issues, after the same spell in charge. The forum smacks of hypocrisy all over.

Like the whole sanctimonious bollocks about the competition suddenly becoming important in defeat. That's totally missing the point. A few posters said prior to the game that they weren't arsed about the competition (I personally was), I don't think that automatically means they're not allowed to talk about the nature of the defeat, it's two completely separate matters. We might have gone out to Leicester on pens, after a draw but relatively good performance, most people would take that on the chin.

The problem is, we made changes but systematically the same problems arose (all pressure and no goals, conceding to what few shots the opposition had). That's worrying and worth discussing and is wholly fair to criticise, because it confirms our suspicions that the manager isn't doing a great job at defensive organisation and we should have bought in the Summer. It goes to show that whatever personnel we put out, the same issues are there, and there is only one constant in that.

I don't think Klopp should go, a few people are losing patience, but he deserves time to put it right, like most managers do (apart from Budgie), but he's starting to reach the stage now where his personality won't mask his shortcomings and it won't wash with the fans. Call that cynical, the mark of the modern fan or whatever. It's not like fans haven't always talked about football and called it what it is, or (God forbid) critised. Particularly Liverpool fans. We're not considered the most knowledgeable fans around because we applaud everything, it's generally because the wider majority of us know the game and know at least to a degree, what we're talking about and at least have a valid point to make. Even if it is often vented or whatever, it's the crux of why people watch the game, to enjoy it, talk about it and analyse it. I don't get why that's such a big deal or why a few people have chosen to be sanctimonious arseholes about it, especially when the same posters have shown huge favoritism to some managers and complete negative bias to others.

This.

I still back Klopp - we just need to avoid becoming small time fans like Palace, West Hame and Newcastle demanding a new manager every 18 months when we haven't won the league. A lot of this rhetoric also comes from the same people who complain about 'modern football' and OOTers/ arm chair fans. Hypocritical cunts.

16 goals conceeded in 9 games is pretty shameful.

I know I'm sounding like a stuck record, but we ALL knew this defence wasn't good enough as we went into the transfer window, we ALL knew we needed a CB and a DM more than anything and we just failed to get them. Instead we spent 80m on Oxlade Chamberlain and Salah.

I don't want Klopp to go, I just want him to be better. We have followed so many false prophets it just doesn't get any easier. As has been stated who else could we get? He's one of the highest regarded coaches in the world, and we DO play some cracking football. I don't know if it's his fault we have the defenders we have or if he wasn't backed in the market, but let's face it the signing of OxCha seems fucking crazy given no defenders followed him in.

The games we have dropped the ball in (taking aside the Man City fiasco) are exactly the same games we fucked up in last season. Every shit team will play deep and give us the ball and wear us down. And we are defenseless against any attacks that come our way.

I'm just pissed off. It was so obvious this would happen.

Onwards and upwards. In the grand scheme of things this defeat isn't important, it's just the manner of it that's annoying.

I really wish we could have a settled back four.
This crazy changing it every game shit only works on fifa.

Fucking hell, you fucking crybaby.

The thread was posted with a clear understanding that almost NOBODY wants Klopp sacked. And sure enough, that's what has transpired.

If you can't handle a possible duality of meaning or intent with a thread title, you need to stop your head wobbling.

Hahaha, I dont know why you're bothering to even express your opinion about this. It means fuck all, as usual.

Good post. We're close to becoming that..

Whoever we bring in won't be able to solve this shit atm.
Far too early to sack Klopp.
But if shit hits the fan, I'll be in the bring Benny back camp.

I'm not sure it's that hard.

All he has to do is buy a new keeper, CB, DM and striker. You could arguably get some of that done in January, say the DM and CB, and that would go a long way to sorting out the defence.

The rest of the team would be transformed by those two additions, and there's little doubt that by Xmas, Klopp's reticence defensively will be set aside, and at least one defender will be coming in.

Klopp is one of those managers who tries to do the best he can for players who are trying their best, but he has to realise he has to do what's right by the club and fans. In this case selling Klavan. But that will not happen till Jan.We will not buy another DM since we have Kieta.
The club should recruit/poach Burnley's defensive coach he could work under Klopp to make the defence tighter
