Roma fans

The Dynamo Kiev fans were in a brawl here a few weeks ago, they've a reputation for being a bit far right. Although some reports suggested that it all started off after a tussle with a group of Russians.

You know Ukraine is full
of Russians and will have even more for the CL final.
Have you been keeping up with the politics of the region? If we were going Donetsk you might have a point, but we are not, we are going further east to the Ukrainian side of Ukraine, and after recent events they aren't so keen on Russians.

I'm probably quiffing but the BBC report says a 53 year old was hit with a belt and fell to the floor suffering a severe head injury. The victim is from Ireland.

Two men from Rome, aged 25 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Merseyside Police said.

As for the whole conspiracy rubbish, the reports were slow in coming because the facts were slow in coming. Two wrongs and all that, the dickheads who threw stuff at the City coach are still dickheads.

I doubt any of them threw flares and bottles thinking, it's reinforced glass so it's ok.

It brings back bad memories of Roma's scooter gangs with knives who drove around trying to slash the backs of LFC fans. The year before Heysel. Conveniently forgotten by some in the media who want to depict the admittedly appalling behaviour of the following year as some kind of inexplicable eruption of violence. These scumbags have never stopped in all those years after.

Have you seen the state of the scruffy meffs? Not a pair of adidas in sight. They're not what they were.
Do they not wear Kappa? I thought that was the brand of choice for Italian football fans.

It is very odd indeed that Roma 84 - after which hundreds of Liverpool fans came back scared, stabbed and angry - isn't remembered as an obvious catalyst for the mindset of the travelling fans the year after, which was "there's no fucking way that's happening to us again"

And it's quite clear that Roma haven't forgotten either, if the cowardly assault last night is any barometer. The return leg is possibly going to be horrible for the away support.

Im looking at a week in Odessa with a few lads from work, get to Kiev on the day of the game then back to Odessa. Has anyone ever been?

[bcolor=transparent]AS Roma condemns in the strongest possible terms the abhorrent behavior of a small minority of traveling fans who brought shame on the club and the vast majority of Roma’s well-behaved supporters at Anfield after getting involved in clashes with Liverpool supporters before last night’s fixture.[/bcolor]

[bcolor=transparent] There is no place for this type of vile behavior in football and the club is now cooperating with Liverpool Football Club, UEFA and the authorities.[/bcolor]

[bcolor=transparent] The club’s thoughts and prayers are with the 53-year-old Liverpool fan in hospital and his family at this time.[/bcolor]

What's annoying is it's hardly new. I mean the fucking 'Ultras' have been around for ages causing bother. I was thinking of going to the Roma game away. @the count gave a very well meaning heads up and warned there might be bother so I chilled on the idea. He was quite right. What the fuck!? People wielding hammers? Fucking animals. I'll go to Kiev though. I might take a stab proof vest though! 😉

No, Kiev will be full of Russians wanting to kick the shit out of English fans.

Rome won't be too bad, they Marshall games very well.
Do they fuck marshal games well in Rome.

Kiev will be full of Ukrainians who aren’t Russian at all. In fact given that they’ve been invaded by Russians they’re not that keen on them.

I’ve been to Rome and seen the hospitality. It’s fucking perilous.
