Rodgers plans

Hardly surprising he wants to stay.

We pay him a fortune, he has bugger all competition for places, and he's not required to be any fucking good.

Where's the risk in it for him?

Agger has always been praising the club, the town, the supporters though, and has often expressed his desire to stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career.

The fact he's had a less convincing Season doesn't suddenly make him into the mediocre, money grabbing, couldn't-care-less type of player you're describing.

Fair enough you don't think he's not good enough, that's at least an opinion on his abilities as a footballer, the rest however is just tabloid Ryan rubbish and it's getting boring in the same mould as whenever Modo turns on Carra.

Sad to say but we're in a strange spot these days because anyone saying they want to spend the rest of their career with us makes me want to sell them because they clearly lack ambition.
I have never thought of Carra and Gerrard as players with lack of ambition, their love for the club is just bigger than their desire to win the Prem with Chelsea.

Nothing wrong with that.

Usually when he's out injured.

I'd like Agger to stay for the rest of his career, we need more players at the club who are part of the furniture, players who know the club inside out, and love it. Carragher will be such a huge miss for that reason.

Agger's certainly part of the furniture all right.

This summer will represent a major challenge in the transfer market. Holding onto Suarez while bringing in top talent would take some doing. Let's not turn into a selling club.

I wonder how much money FSG are spending on this major overhaul of the women's team? 12 new players signed, the coaching/sports science staff expanded, facilities being improved, wages increased massively? I know in the great scheme of things it probably doesn't amount to that much, but it still seems a strange time to make this a priority. I suppose the commercial appeal of a successful women's team will please Ayre and Co, but when the men's team needs to pinch every penny to improve the squad it puzzles me a bit.

They are playing in their home town and anyway are both years past their best. Agger is about 28 and from some snowy shithole, it's quite different.

Womens football is MASSIVE in the states. I bet they can sell this readily.

Wasn't he moaning a few years ago?

Not having a go at him, because he is a decent player. Not a brilliant player but certainly a good one.

He won't be here for the rest of his career though, unless he is panning to retire really early. He will eventually lose his place in the team and want regular football elsewhere.

How many of our players go straight from Liverpool to retirement? Not many. And how many foreign players do so? Even less.

I thought I'd watch a bit of their game this evening seeing as it had been hyped up so much. Woeful! Masses of air shots, falling over and toddler-like toe pokes! Henry's going to have to spend a bit more to make this lot look like a serious proposition!

Haha. No, we've bought about a dozen top women players (including one straight from the blueslime 😀) all at one go - not that that's a guarantee of success, but we've also brought in one of the top coaches (a bloke incidentally) in the women's game. The owners have really pushed the boat out with this.

That said, macca's absolutely right - the overall standard isn't even on the same planet as top-class men's football. A decent County FA men's side would beat them IMO. I just hope FSG have done their market research.

#rumour Liverpool have held informal talks with Alonso's agent about the possibility of bringing him back to Anfield.

McParland said in an interview last week that we would just add quality youth prospects to the Acadamy.

Always wonder what 'informal' talks means.

Do they talk using street slang or something?

Were our reps wearing shorts and flip flops?
