I heard Stevie G keeps a Phil Collins cardboard cutout in his closet.

In his closet? It has pride of place in the living room! Above the fireplace. He hopes to get it signed one day by the man himself.

What would really be bad is if Rodgers kept a picture of himself in someone else's house. That would be outrageous. I mean, if I was just settling down to watch Total Wipeout and Rodgers turned up, with a great big portrait of himself , asking if he could keep it at MY house, I'd have to say: Oi, Rodgers, NO!!!! I greatly admire what you did at Swansea last season, and you have my full support as you bid to cultivate a golden age of George Takei style football at Anfield, but I will NOT have you treating MY house as some kind of GALLERY for any portraits of you that you can't even bear to have on your own wall! And I don't care if you DID win it a fair or wherever! Now kindly take your grandiose bit of vanity portraiture AND STICK IT WHERE The Lying Rag DON'T SHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahha Rodgers is such a fugazi tough guy. On the one hand he gives interviews talking about his players running through barbed wire. Then in reality he has them meditating and making meow sounds. Fucking hell, he's like some tragic parody of Shankly.

I think it could be a good thing that he has an air of arrogance around him. I think we need that at the moment. I always remember Hodgson and his ‘what am I doing here’ mentality which seemed to spread rapidly among the players. Maybe a bit of arrogance will rub off onto the players and they can play with confidence, rather than lets pass it back (Henderson) or pass it to another player so they can get the blame (Downing).

Not unless you are with your loved ones should you have a picture that contains yourself on show at home, The only way you get around that is by hitting the heights of your challenges. Winning the European Cup, reaching the top of everest, winning a gold medal. Things like that are acceptable.

BR makes himself look an ego fuelled bell with that.

True, but this isn't about mate or someone you want to have a pint with, he's our manager and maybe an arrogant prick is just what we need!

This is it, sort of.

Being self centred, in my opinion is a strength in football management and individual sports. Golfers/tennis players etc can't succeed without focusing on themselves, on their game. Being the man who plans to return Liverpool to the very top requires that sort of focus, the belief that the decisions you are making are 100% right. That their way is THE way. Fergie, Jose, Arsene, I'd say they are all pretty much self centred, it's all about them and their way.

That said, if he doesn't pull if off he will look like an arrogant prick with nothing to back it up, apart from a job a Bolton or some such.

One could argue that both GH, and Rafa had that same characteristic but obviously did not express it in the same way.

Yeah and they had success, they also started with a team in a reasonably strong position. Rodgers on the other hand didn't start with a strong team and is in the position Ferguson started with Man United, they finished 4th in the league under Ron Atkinson the season before Ferguson took charge and were pretty much a cup team (Or so wiki tells me).

I also feel that it is important to note that I have have a good deal of wine and whisky.

Its not even a proper painting its one of those canvas prints thats taken from a photograph, Im disappointed I thought it was gonna be a proper posed portrait of him standing with a horse or something like that
