Depends what you call backing the manager. Is around £20m net backing the manager? It also depends what players wanted to join us and if the manager wanted them.

When it comes down to FSG then IMO expanding Anfield was the wrong option. It won't close the gap enough and other teams that will move to a new stadium will catch us. We needed a new stadium. If they had made that decision after a few months then we would already be playing in it. Of course it would have been much more expensive but the club would be worth much more.

Sooner or later will need to move to a bigger stadium than Anfield if we want to compete for the PL title every season and that must be the goal. By expanding Anfield FSG more or less give up any realistic chance to win the title and instead of title challenges a top four place is the only realistic goal every season.

We can forget about challenging for the title more than say one time every decade.

FSG made the small time decision to expand Anfield.

If Gillett and Hicks had made that decision then they would have been hanged by us fans. Why is expanding Anfield ok with FSG as owners when it wasn't ok with Gillett and Hicks as owners.

We already knew then that expanding Anfield isn't a big enough step forward.

Anfield is a legendary stadium but it won't make us title challengers. I love Anfield and would love if it someway without a suggardaddy was possible to stay and challenge for the title every season.

Now we need a suggardaddy to compete for the PL title thanks to that FSG made the decision to expand Anfield. With a bigger new stadium it would have been possible without a suggardaddy.

I think we need to separate the "backing the manager" argument with the reality on the pitch. The reality is that have no guts, no organisation, no tactics and no one "playing for the team". If this lot played with half the application of teams like Leicester, we'd be in a much happier place. In theory, we have a stronger and deeper squad than some of the "lesser" sides, and yet we have seen nothing but utter drivel for the last ten games or more. The manager doesn't need backing, he needs a rocket up his arse to send the players out in their strongest natural positions, and to play the game without fear (I know, I know). Any less than this is cheating the fans.

And who would be giving us this stadium for free?

Not for free. Loan but not against the club. The way other clubs do. A lot of other clubs do it so why would it be impossible for FSG to do it? Even Tottenham do it.

It would mean that they would have to wait longer until they make a profit but the profit would be bigger every season. Everything they do points to that they will sell the club in a couple of years time and want to make a short term profit. If they had planned to stay a long time then they would have built a new stadium IMO because the long term profit will be bigger.

Would it really make much of a difference?

Newcastle have the 10th highest average attendance in world football - higher than ours. Does it help them a lot?

Borussia Dortmund have the highest average attendance in the world. They still can't get near Bayern

You can't compare us to teams in other leagues. Different ticket prices, taxes etc. Bayern have a couple of companies that pumps in a lot of money. Dortmund almost went out of business before Klopp took charge and built the club up from top to bottom together with the DoF.

Dortmund tops the league and at least challenged Bayern almost every season the last few years.

Newcastle isn't as big brand as us, not even close. For them a big stadium wouldn't make that big difference because the best players wouldn't join them anyway. The owner would earn more money but for the club it wouldn't be a big difference. They wouldn't be able to spend it in the transfer market. Ashely get a lot of stick but Newcastle isn't a big club and it would be crazy if the owner spent the money just to spend it.

For us a big stadium would be a difference. We would get bigger sponsorship deals because we would be able to attract better players and win more and that attracts sponsors. It is a myth that Anfield attract world class players. They say that they love it but no one want to join us.

Sacking Rodgers won't solve the problem. Our owner need to learn from the mistakes they do but they make the same mistakes over and over again.

They don't run us as a top class football club. They run us as a company. It is a big difference even that LFC is a company. When you run a top class football club then you sometimes must be prepared to risk your own money. Some years take a loss and gamble that you will make a bigger profit later.

They seem to spend money just to please the fans. They sign players we don't need for big money. Lovren, Lallana, Firmino, Balotelli and Markovic for example. Lallana is one of the best players in the league making deep runs into the box but he plays out wide because we already have Coutinho. What happened the last window? Yes, we signed up another player that is best in that position, the same mistake again and signing a player just to please the fans. We already had Sakho and Agger so why sign Lovren? We didn't need him.

We can't afford to continue to make mistakes like that. We must start to sign players we need.

I think probably because Sakho and Agger are shit and we expected Lovren to be an improvement.

We sold Agger because Rodgers lied to him. We only dropped a few points the whole 13/14 season when Agger and Skrtel started in the league. I think it was three or four points and they started around 15 games together in the league. Agger and Skrtel was that season the best partnership in the PL.

Agger makes other central defenders better. Agger shit, yeah right. We don't have a central defender with great game intelligence since we sold Agger. No one is good enough to play the ball from the defence or to play a quick pass to the midfield. Instead we now see Skrtel slowing down the play and when someone pressures him then he plays it back to Mig. That is a big reason to our slow play.

Agger isn't fit enough for the Danish league full time. I thought he was boss when he was fit but it wasn't often enough.

Agger's passing wasn't good enough either. He might have played them quicker than Skrtel, but time and again they went to the opposition. It's no blinkin' use having "game intelligence" if you don't get the basics right.

No we didnt. We sold him because the manager didnt rate him. He has started 12 games since he left us. So grow up.

Wrong. Both Gomez and Sakho can and do do that. We just need to play them as CBs !

He said himself the injuries had caught up with him .. and he was shit in the Danish league too. The injuries really ended his time as a top flight CB far too early.

He said himself that Rodgers lied to him and didn't talk to him for months. Do you really believe that a manager will keep a player he treated like a piece of shit?

He said he wasnt up to the premier league anymore yes.

No he didn't. He said that he wanted to stay but Rodgers lied to him and made that impossible.

Again, he said that Rodgers lied to him and made it impossible to stay.

It is up to you if you believe the club version or the Agger one.

Player after player that left us have said that Rodgers lied to them. I don't believe Agger would lie about this. For years he was one of the most respected players at the club.

Ha ha. It's definitely true that Agger said he was no longer up to PL football .. maybe Rodgers said he was and that's why Agger is saying he lied to him ?

A link please so you can back up your story. I backed up mine. I can't find a single article that says that he said that he was no longer up to PL football.

So far on this site when I'm being accused of lying I backed up my version with a link almost every time. The ones who said that I lie almost never back it up.

Back it up or shut up.

It's definitely Modo.
Pretending his English is weak.
No poster would ever be so frequent in their postings starting new at a site.

Name them. Is this like the bit where you said we're a team of players who've won nothing, right before you were made to look like a fool?

Agger, "one of the most respected players at the club", used to act like a spoiled twat every time he came back from injury and wasn't straight back in the team, so don't give me none of that shite about him being holier than thou.
