Roberto Firmino - signed the silky swine

Shanks did indeed try to sign Worthington. He failed the first medical (questions about his heart appaz) but Shanks was sufficiently keen to send him away for a fortnight before undergoing another medical. Unfortunately Worthington - one of the biggest boozers and shaggers in football at the time, as well as one of the most extravagantly gifted strikers - spent that fortnight giving the wine, women and song his undivided attention and failed the second medical by an even bigger margin. In a certain kind of way you almost have to admire that. 🙂

Is there pussy?
I'm on tapatalk maybe it has a pussy filter.
The picture I can see is safe for newborns.
Not that I can see. People seems to fawning over creases in a bed sheet. Still, whatever it takes and if that merits a 'Very NSFW' tag then so be it.

I can see something resembling flaps

If it turns out to be a peculiarly folded bit of leather then fair enough

Either way I'm erect

WUM [emoji6]

Nsfw tag I added as viewing flange in work might not be a good idea for some...

You pay the money you get the player.

I hear ya Gary but don't forget it's Frimino from Hoffenheim. We always had a 'realistic' chance of getting him. I don't know if throwing money at say Lacazette for example would be enough to get him here. We should try it though.

Yep, throw the Benteke money at him, and offer him £100k, maybe more, easy.

Here's the word from me brazilian mate.

"First Firmino to Liverpool, now Douglas Costa to Bayern for 35m... Haven't you guys realized by now that the Brazil team is a huge scam? Agents will bribe the FA, who will give the nod to mediocre players, who will in turn become overrated for being a "Brazil forward". How many more Afonso Alves do you guys really need to stop behaving like a dumb yank purchasing the eiffel tower from a scam artist? Douglas Costa is worth nothing."

Yeah I reckon he's just down on Brazil because the national side has been corrupt for ages, since way before ever since Nike made Ronaldo play in the 98 final.

But he knows his stuff, played at a decent level, travels the world watching footy... his dad is a farming gazillionaire or something... but yeah, he means what he says even if it's wrong.

My favourite part of the scam is when they played really good football at their respective European clubs.

Interesting that Paulinho - who Tottenham bought 2 years ago for 17m quid - is about to be released on a free.

Oh I saw some shit yesterday... but anywhizz... there have been quite a few flops.

Someone said earlier in the topic it was worth Hoffenheim taking him for a few million and not us because without those few years in Europe they might not develop. And I agree. But it might be a bit of that and a bit of this. Some of them were never good enough but got shovelled into the national side as part of a scam.

Maybe.

Look at the money that David Luiz has generated in transfer fees.
Maybe the dude is on to something here.

Perhaps so, but Firmino on the other hand is being talked up by the likes of Didi Hamann and Tim Vickery.

I always think of Tim Vickery on the same terms as that 'money saving expert' Martin Lewis. Both of them seem over-intense, over-talkative and a bit needy, and, I suspect, underneath all the bluster they don't really say much. Didn't Vickery initially say that, as Firminho had mainly played in Germany, people would be better off asking German journalists? Then I suspect he realised he was talking himself out of another flurry of word-vomits so he started waffling on about the one press conference where he'd heard Firmino speak (and say nothing), and now he's hastily gone through the cuttings and started re-hashing the same stuff we've done!

Well, you'd know better than I when it comes to members of the press, macca, but my feeling is that the truth is somewhere in the middle. Vickery and Lewis clearly are motormouths, but the impression I get in both cases is that the flummery is built up on a fair knowledge base to begin with.

What do you think the scam is sir?

The one mandanoti reckons... Agents pay the Brazilian FA to put some average players in the squad to up their value. Now this has certainly happened with sponsors before, to up their client's reputation, but he's alleging agents are also doing it to up the cash they get for transfers.

I'm not saying he's right, just telling you what he thinks. My opinion is it's certainly plausible.

Sounds very plausible ...

I'm sure they've got a decent basic body of knowledge, but I find they don't sift through it much, they hoover it all in and then blow it all out again. Didn't Vickery announce he'd heard some kind of top secret info last summer about a signing we were going to make that would be pretty sensational? That went well! I remember Vickery when he was a budding comedy writer in London. Tried for ages to develop a career in that. Then I think he went to Brazil to teach EFL, met a local woman and realised that, if he got into South American football and used some of his old media contacts back in Blighty he could reinvent himself as THE go-to guy for footie news from that part of the world. Blagged it quite a bit in his early days, understandably, but it was all snapped up as gospel. I'm sure he's sincere and nowadays a genuine obsessive fan of the area's game, but it does me smile when some radio stations treat him like he's some sort of mystical oracle.
