I was under the impression that there was or at least used to be a reasonably general consensus on what sixcrazyminutes was about and that is the antithesis of places like RAWK. A fairly free (and anarchic as Buddha said) place for people who don't take things seriously and have tough skin. That ethos used to be something that got talked about fairly regularly.
As for people wanting different things, that's fine, isn't it? As long as people respect that, but I don't think they do. Some people, for example, have moaned incessantly about Skully clogging up threads with supposed negativity. Personally I found his posts entertaining even if they were repetitive and it was the people who whinged non-stop about it that bothered me. So there is example of one mans meat is anothers poison. As repetitive as the likes of Modo et al may have been, their counterparts have been just as bad. But they have enjoyed the support of the mods for rallying against supposed negativity. If threads are being littered with negativity AND whinging about negativity then both sides should be dealt with in the same way if dealing with these matters is the way you want to go about things. But that's not what happens. The wants of only one side are being catered for. That's where the imbalance comes from.
As for the mods being fed up with it. When aren't they? Every time someone dares open their mouth about the way things are run they get told that 'management' are on the brink of quitting.
Personally I can't quite understand why running an Internet site is so stressful but if it is, call it a day. It's not worth it. The site has a good community as shown whenever tickets are needed, someone gets fucked over (ILD), funds need raising for software or whatever else and this attitude of "well, fuck it we'll just quit" just spits in the face of all of that.

Liverpool Football Club have today completed the signing of Oussama Assaidi from Dutch side SC Heerenveen.
The 24-year-old winger passed a medical at Melwood before signing a long-term deal with the club.
Assaidi, who has represented Morocco 22 times, told Liverpoolfc.com: "I'm very happy to play for this big club. The first time I spoke to the coach I had a good feeling. I had offers from other big clubs but I've been waiting for this moment.
"The coach gave me a good feeling. It will be a dream to play with these big players and I hope training will help me to be a good player here.
"When I watch Liverpool it's always a good atmosphere, the fans are fantastic and I'm happy to be here."
Assaidi scored 20 goals in 68 appearances for Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie.
He becomes Brendan Rodgers' third signing as Reds boss following the arrivals of Fabio Borini and Joe Allen.
Rodgers said: "We're delighted with the signing, he's a young player who has done very well, in particular in the last couple of seasons, in Holland.
"He fits our style perfectly, he's an exciting player who is very good in one versus one situations and I think he's a player that will excite the crowd.
"We're not expecting too much too early, he needs time to adapt but we're delighted he's chosen to come here over a number of other clubs.
"As I said, I'll look forward to helping his development and I hope he'll become a very good part of this club."

It seems to me (and it's difficult to hold all the posts in mind) that a big part of the problem has been that some (often otherwise excellent) posters on here have been littering the mods inboxes with pms complaining about stuff that the mods then feel they have to act upon.
What happened to that thing we're all trying to describe that makes this place better than others? A bunch of fans willing to entertain a bit of banter, diverse opinions, the odd fallout - but all within the spirit of "live and let live, we're all Liverpool fans in the end".
The moment people start throwing pms and hissy fits around, demanding action gets taken against certain personas (for that's all a lot of it is) on here, it must put the owners/mods in a difficult, seemingly increasingly stressful position. Moreover, people have started "quitting" and flouncing off at the drop of a hat.
Why can't posters just put on "ignore" those who (for whatever subjective reason) get their goat? It's not difficult.
There remains a lot on here (not least the light-touch moderation) that makes it the best forum around in my eyes. Once focus turns again to new season, hopefully some will have less reason to get preoccupied with themselves.
