Reds agree deal for winger (Oussama Assaidi)

He could be our Scott Sinclair, a bit round round the edges but has the technical ability to be a success with the right coaching.

I've nothing against a chimp house forum in principle but I think if such a sub forum becomes abusive then the bad feeling will spill over into the main forums. So yes, banter, off topic yes but abusive behavior would still cause issues IMO

Isn't all this being a bit overexaggerated? This place has always had an anarchic streak to it - that's what marks it as much more real and more fun than RAWK etc.

Recently, there's been a lack of news/info going on during a quiet pre-season (ie. no games to chat shit about) and we've a week or two of extra silliness and off-topic tomfoolery. Hardly cause for a massive re-organisation of the site and teeth gnashing.

The season will kick off and we'll all be focused on football again with the odd banter and hissy fit thrown in for good measure. Sixcrazyminutes indeed.

None of this would have happened if we got Martinez instead of Rodgers.

None of this would have happened if we got Rafa instead of Rodgers. Except that Rosco would be on suicide watch.

I appreciate that it's proving difficult for the mods to strike a balance between what many of us perceive to be what sixcrazyminutes is all about and what they feel they need to do to preserve order, however it seems to me that when more than a couple of the better posters start to push back it's time for pause. If nothing else, I don't think "fuck off elsewhere" is a particularly constructive attitude to take.

Personally I think the backlash against the 'excessive banter' and so called negativity was taken to ridiculous extremes and certain posters couldn't post anything without being jumped on by others. If the mods are going to try and balance things out then they have to hand out the same sort of treatment to both sides rather than just one.

You're right there is a delicate balance. The problem I've had is when certain people go to every thread and post "were so fuckin shit" and stuff like that. Fine saying it once, but if no one listens they just keep posting it over and over again, it's infuriating, especially when they then starts talking about how they're gonna beat up your cat or some other shit like that and then everyone else joins in. It's one thing having a bit of banter and occasional comments like that, but when you get to a thread and there's three pages on it, it's pointless. Honestly I don't know what to solution is, but Oncy and Skullflower leaving isn't it, locking a thread as soon as one person posts something on topic isn't the solution either. I think certain mods could maybe ask people to get back on topic before locking straight away, that would help.

Who were the certain posters? Perhaps they were the ones where we had lists of PMs complaining and people starting to leave the site too? So maybe at times it was excessive - we're humans and **surprise surprise** we fuck up - but we're privy to information that you're not, and as was the case with Brendan (the poster, not the manager), in general - the decision isn't popular but at the end of the day, the site did improve etc. I'll tell you what infuriates some people in the mod/owner team - here we are putting in our own money etc and have things thrown in our face as if we're doing things to make life miserable for people. So while you may not be happy with the occasionally "fuck off elsewhere" comment, when you hear the same ungrateful complaint thrown in your face non-stop, sometimes you don't take the high road.

Most of the mod/owner team has wanted to quit this past 12 months, bar two. That tells you how frustrating the ride has been. Maybe the site is running its course, maybe it's the off-season, maybe its the frustration with 20 years of mediocrity - who knows. Whatever though, at the end of the day, the site will go on and if not, well I'm sure there's enough people who care about the community who'll start SCM MK II.

Lads can we try to keep this thread on topic?

I thought that since you liked keni's response, I could at least have a chance to present my opinion too? Since Ross is longer with us, I guess this idea of keeping threads on topic can finally be put to bed! CELEBRATE!!!!

Push back on what Keni ? Posters telling us we're doing things wrong ? What about us pushing back on all the things that we're receiving complaints about and are causing better poster as we see it to leave the site ? This is the problem with this place, everyone wants everything their own way and there's no happy medium. It simply does not exist. I'm beyond being arsed about this site at the moment and it's going to run it's course before long . As Wizzy says, most mods have pretty much had it with the whole place one way or another. As I say, if people don't like it they have all kind of options. Set up their own forum and run it how they see fit being one of those. They'll soon realise you cannot keep everyone happy all of the time.

Please do enlighten me though as to what 6CM is supposed to be about because I'll tell you now everyone's opinion of that will be different.

Nah, it's awesome.

We all love it, even the ones who have left for a break.

In my opinion, the light moderation you guys do is perfect. It's not SCM if you can't say fuck shit cunt in any thread you like though. I also think it's part of this site's dna to be slightly not safe for work. Your original stance on no hardcore porn was just right in my view.

Everyone on this site should be able to tell other posters to fuck off. And that includes the mods.
