Cheers mate.

Ok, with fresh eyes, what do you like here that you can't find elsewhere?

Sorry to put you on the spot, tell me to fuck off if you want.

Firstly, you can fuck off. Go on, fuck off out of it. Scram, skedaddle, and piss off.

With that obligatory response out of the way, I'll happily share some thoughts: I don't think there's anything particularly unique, per se, but I don't think there has to be in order to attract new posters and keep them using the website. I assume that's your aim, as well as to have a natural, self-sustaining quality level? You just need a sustainable place where people enjoy using the site, enjoy talking to the people on it, have respect for those on it, but also have a good interface through which to use the site.

I don't know for sure, I only really started posting and reading the forum the other day, but my first impression is that there's a favourable mixture of the things other sites do well, with a paucity of the things they do wrong. I might have missed it, and you're probably all a bunch of unconscionable bastards, but it seems that there's no overbearing fascistic agenda from the ownership/moderators, like on RAWK. Try calling them 'unconscionable bastards'.

From the outside looking in, they attempt to control almost every post in the name of attracting 'quality posters'. The side effect of this is that they treat their userbase like school children, close almost all of their transfer threads and ban people for saying things they don't like. They'll open threads with 'be careful' or 'be sensible. Fuck off. Rather than attracting quality posters, it drives them away. Anybody with an ounce of intelligence runs from that type of control. For me, it's not what the internet should be about; some random guy thinking you should be 'privileged' to receive 'recognition from the moderation team'. Don't they realise their site is just a few lines of code with a different set of permissions?

That said, what RAWK seems to do fairly well is provide a site with a good, well-ordered structure. That, for me at least, is fairly important. It allows you to skip the content you don't want to read, and focus on the stuff you do want. It feels ordered, which is good, but in a 'police state' type of way, which is bad. People don't want to be put in cages and told to behave; intelligent people act sensibly because they want to, not because somebody pretending to be better than them tells them to.

TLW is pretty much the polar opposite: The site design is borderline shambolic; It goes offline much of the time; is slow as shit to browse due to the massive, poorly compressed images used for adverts; is a nightmare for mobile browsing, due to it not using tapatalk; the search function doesn't work, making using the same thread more than once a bit tricky; it's based on old software so has very few features, and generally looks pretty poorly put together.

However, the separation between members and mods is pretty much non-existant. Nobody is better than anybody else based on the meaningless status below their name. In fact, there is no meaningless shit below their name, which is good. They also have a core (which is disbanding, and shrinking) of intelligent, knowledgable posters. But it's fractured, and the total lack of moderation means the lack of civility and respect can spoil things.

You seem to have a mix of the two things: An ordered website, with decent features and a working tapatalk mobile app; with the ability to say 'cunt' without it being starred out, and say something about a player we're linked with without being thrown out due to not being an approved source.

You have to work out what site you want to offer (I've no idea how long this site has been here, BTW, I'm working off the assumption you've not been about all that long), and who you want to be. All I can tell you is what I want from a website, and opinions may vary on that. I want an occasionally serious, informed debate/discussion about players, ownership, and football in general, but I want to enjoy using a forum. Talking to people I find interesting, but also having a fucking laugh. Why'd somebody go to a site for a prolonged period if it was a chore? I've left sites which have developed into hard work.

A bit of what interests ya, mixed with a bit of what entertains ya, whilst being treated like an equal, all wrapped up in an interface which makes it easy to use and access. That's a winning site. Also, I like the 'News' tab; it's a good way to get articles. Adding to that would be good. And I like the 'like' button, rather than a reputation system.

Also, this winger looks tasty. <-- On-topic post.

I've to get up at 7am for kick off tomorrow. I might have to get up and take public transport to go to my friends house to watch it. Do you hear me people, PUBLIC TRANSPORT!!
I demand everyone to be on the same page tomorrow, let's have a fucking match thread. Oncy is usually gold in the match thread. As is Ross. Ye better be there.

If Oncy doesn't show for the Return of Wonderman i'll lose all faith in the belief that Lucas is the one midfielder to rule them all.

As for sub forums and all the shite. Nah. What's the point? We have a GC forum if ALL you want to do is spout random stuff. Some posters can debate football and nail zingers at the same time without being repitive or culpable of derailing threads somewhat on purpose. FFF nails it. Gene nails it. Del nails it etc. Even Modo is being less annoying these days. (Sorry Modo).

EVERYBODY COOL OUT!!

As a very long term lurker and occasional poster, it has already been noted early in the summer there was unnecessary shit being thrown, the sahin threads being the latest examples, I don't know what has happened but can it please stop, I do occasionally browse other forums and while they sometimes have great knowledge, they are boring as fuck. This website on a daily basis makes me laugh out loud, keep it that way. Gutted Herr onceared has flounced off, he has always been great but sorry skullflower fuck off, 99% of the time completely negative and boring as well

Modo will be disappointed

Surely it's only a matter of time before the club realises this man is not a qualified doctor and he just likes being near to blokes without tops on.

Skully is a funny poster, but the repetitive we're shit and we sign shite he put in every thread got boring.
Its fine that some dont care about that, but in the end yo dont have to voice this in every single thread clogging up the forum. When he wasnt trolling he was a very good poster.

I've been on about the negativity a while back, and certain posters have been extreme the last couple of months. Its boring as fuck. In the end though you have to respect peoples opinions and they're entitled to it. Its the repetitive and constant moaning that was the problem. I think my involvement just made it worse, so I've fucked the whole thing off. But as FFF said, I think that negativity will vanish when the season kicks off.

I love this forum, the banter, the posters and everything about it. Even if there is handbags with a certain poster in one thread you're mates in another.
I can understand Sean and the mods though, you cant please everyone.

Lets get 3 points tomorrow and we can start this season both on here and on the pitch with a positive vibe.

Well, what you said we are is exactly, spot on, what we want to be. Not a strict as fuck site like RAWK but not a fucking free for all madhouse like tlw can be at times.

I think overall we get the balance right, the problem for me is the summer, when we don't play eve thread hoes off topic & people develop their persona more to elevate boredom. Unfortunately that means the posters who aren't here when this happens (particularly ones from other time zones) are forced to wade through a shitfest (which was funny at the time but read smarter the fact much less so) to read any information.

Cheers for the comments, they're encouraging to me. If you like the place now you'll fucking love it when we have a couple of wins under our belt. The banter in match threads sit side by side with intelligent comments. Well, nearly intelligent, more so if drinking.

Malibu- you like a lot of stuff on this site, which is very much appreciated by we, the beneficiaries.

Now we know what you don't like. Thank you for sharing dude.

I was wondering who he/she was.

He/she just a had a mini "liking" spree of my posts.

...And then - in what was described by the Preston Advertiser as an 'audacious coup' - I managed - somehow! - to persuade Fleetwood's Mr Chip - and all Mr Chip vans - to sign up with my company. And I was just six years old at the time! And then...

Are you really the manager???

i love how every new poster is immediately assumed to be paddy, we need o ne of those pope chairs with the holes in the bottom so someone can stick their hand through, yano, just for a laugh

For the benefit of new posters: this is Paddy.

So for Liverpool fans reading this, how would you describe yourself as a player?
I think I am a technical player, I can shoot with either my left or right foot, I'm fast over the first few metres, and I think I have good vision.

Thats a really honest description of himself. Pretty much what we came up with from the youtube vids. I like his personality from reading the interview on the offal.

Assaidi: The first interview

Moments after completing his transfer, Oussama Assaidi sat down with Liverpoolfc.com at Melwood to give his first interview as a Reds player. Here's what our new No.11 had to say...
copy_(3)_of_oussama_assaidi_19.jpg

Firstly, Oussama, welcome to Liverpool...
Thank you. I am delighted to have signed for this big club. I spoke with the managing director, Ian (Ayre), first when he came to Holland. After we spoke, I had a good feeling. Then I spoke with the coach (Brendan Rodgers) and when I did, he gave me a good feeling. How he wants to play is the way I like to - I want to play football. That's what we did in Holland and that's why I had a good feeling about coming to play for this big club. The fans here are great - they make a brilliant atmosphere in the stadium. This is a great club and you can't say 'no' to it.
Is it true there were other clubs interested in you?
Yes. I had offers from Galatasaray, Spartak Moscow and Ajax - but as I said before, I had a good feeling after speaking with the coach. When Liverpool come to you and say they want you, you never say no to this big club. I am very happy to be here. I signed today for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Was that chat with Brendan Rodgers one of the key reasons in your decision to join Liverpool, then?
Yeah, but it was also about the club. This is a very big club. But you always want to speak with the coach, and as I said, the feeling he gave me was a good one. Before I spoke with him, I wanted to stay in Holland - but after talking to him, I made the choice of Liverpool.

Assaidi: The first interview

How much are you now looking forward to playing for Brendan?
I am very happy to work with him. How we think about football is good. In Holland, I played 4-3-3, and he wants to also play like that (here). He likes to play with wingers, and I can also play as a No.10. I am very happy to work with him and I hope he can help me to become a good player for Liverpool.
Which players here at Liverpool are you most looking forward to playing alongside?
Liverpool have big players. I played against Luis Suarez for Heerenveen against Ajax. Steven Gerrard is a big player too, and it's brilliant for me to play with these great players.
It's a big move for you, but I suppose you must be used to big moves in your career having moved to Holland from Morocco when you were just four years old...
I was four when I went to Holland and I began playing football when I was 12. Later, when I was 18, I played for FC Omniworld in the second division and then I went to De Graafschap in the first division. Then I went to Heerenveen - and now I play for this big club, Liverpool. I think that experience will help me settle in here. I lived with my parents in Holland and now my family will come over and help me to do my job here.
You hold dual nationality. What made you choose to play for Morocco over Holland?
I chose Morocco because my parents are from there, and I am also Moroccan. It was a good feeling to choose them. I also spoke with the coach, Eric Gerets, and he believed in me, so that's why I made my choice of Morocco.
So for Liverpool fans reading this, how would you describe yourself as a player?
I think I am a technical player, I can shoot with either my left or right foot, I'm fast over the first few metres, and I think I have good vision.
As you touched upon earlier, you can play in a few different positions, but what is your favourite position?
My favourite positions that I like to play are on the left or as a No.10. On the left, I played quite well there in Holland, and so I like to play either there or behind the striker.
Is it true you're currently fasting for Ramadan?
Yes, I am fasting now for Ramadan. I am Muslim and I believe in Allah, god. That's why I fast and do Ramadan.
You did a running test here at Melwood this morning and the doctors were amazed at how quickly your heart rate returned to normal. Are you a naturally fit player?

Yeah, I am fit. I heard that from the doctor and I am very happy about that! Now I can't wait to play my first match for this big club.
How much are you looking forward to playing your first match at Anfield in front of the Liverpool fans?
I want to play my first match (at Anfield) now! I think it will be great to play for these fantastic fans at Anfield. I can't wait to hear 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. I hope my first game comes quickly! I have seen on TV what the atmosphere is like at Anfield. I cannot wait to play for this club.
Finally, do you have a message for the Liverpool fans?
The fans here are fantastic and I am very happy to sign for this big club. I cannot wait to play my first match.

apparantly this is from the official site, i cba checkin it tho

9. His FIFA 2012 profile gives him 91/100 for acceleration, 90/100 for agility and 86/100 dribbling. The area he needs to work on - if the football console is to be believed - is slide tackling, at which they rate him 24/100.

thats awesome, our PR team dont give a fuck, im waiting for all our football matches to be carried out on football manager from now on
