I've time for Xavi, Messi and that's it.
Villa? Iniesta? Pedro? All excellent players who play the game properly, though Pedro has had a poor year (compared to last year).

Lastly, I'm a big fun of Pique. He is an excellent defender, very underrated.
I addressed Pedro earlier. i can think of two times last night when he lay on the floor after fuck all contact, so he can fuck off.

Iniesta did plenty of woeful rolling around at the World Cup. Villa - I'll give you that one.

and Pique's not a great defender at all. He can pass and play no doubt, but there's no actual defending to do in that Barca team cos they keep the ball for 80% of the game and hump most teams by half a dozen anyway. Which is fortunate for him cos he's slow as cold hardened shite. He's in that Barca defence for his ability to pass out from the back more so than his actual defending. He wouldn't have got a look in at United in front of Rio and Vidic anyway.
Was one of those times the time Marcelo accidentally stamped on him? Didn't see him ask for a card or anything ... I don't remember him doing anything that bad in the World Cup bar that 'non-pass' to Torres.

I assume your feelings about Iniesta are similar to those on Suarez (who wasn't a saint during the world cup either)?

He's slow? I actually don't think his pace is that bad ... and most defenders wouldn't get a look in with Rio/Vidic ahead of them - that being said, he's not done 'that' bad since moving to Barca (he's won everything there is to win in club & int'l football in 4 years). I think he's far better than you give him credit for BUT your logic re: possession is 100% right, so until we see him play for a club other than Barca or Spain, it will be hard to actually tell who's 'really' right.

Re Pedro - I'm mostly thinking of the time Arbeloa checked his run and he hit the deck like he was in platoon.

Pathetic.

It happens ... It's wrong but that's nothing compared to dear Angel's frolicking every time Alves touched him.

The antics on show were pretty embarrassing, but I can understand why it went down. On the one hand, Barca get criticized for being tippy tappy bellends and on the other Mourinho's sides get praised for gaining results despite horrible cynical tactics and cheating thrown into the mix.

If Real had've won tonight and had been throwing themselves around - as they did the other week - Mourinho would've once again been proclaimed a genius who gets results and they way in which that win was achieved would've been a footnote.

Barca get showered with constant praise for being amazing and that leaves them wide open for this sort of criticism. In this case it's entirely justified, but there is no doubt that a lot of people on here have a hard-on for hating Barca. I'm not quite sure why - maybe it's cool because it's going against the grain or something.
no,[glow=red,2,300] you'll find most of it has to with the way they tapped up Mascherano and Torres, and how their players, at every turn for two summers in a row, told those two and the press how shit our club is and that they should leave. Fuck. Barca.[/glow]

Aye, Pedro dived all over the place and the way he ran into Arby and then went down clutching his face like he'd been poleaxed was one of the most sickening things I saw all night, and there was plenty to choose from. He's a cheating wee cunt.

The most shocking appraisal one can give is that Ronaldo (cheating, slimy, self-aggrandizing prick Ronaldo), stood out as a relatively fair player on the pitch last night in comparison with others.

I don't have some hard on for hating Barca, and I was hoping they'd win, but they have a dark side, and I wasn't shocked at all to see it on display when they aren't in game genie mode.

Stooping makes it sound like they were at one point above that shit, when they aren't. That's not hating Barca, that's just a fact.

Funnily enough, when Pedro did get caught by Marcelo with the sneaky stamp that ended with him being subbed, the ref didn't see it!!!

Last night was weird for me.

I usually side with Madrid over Barca, but last night I wanted Barca to win. Why? Simply, the pragmatist in me knows that of those two teams, Barca are more likely to hand Utd their arses on a plate on the Final.

I hope they don't let me down.

On another note, I hear Duckface was twittering about all the diving on display and how it was all wrong. Funnily enough, I didn't hear whether he got injured by all the shattering glas falling around him. Lets hope so eh.

I would always have backed Barca, even though I increasingly dislike the club's arrogance and much of their playing staff. I agree, Barca provide the best chance of beating Utd and I wanted them to win the tie, I didn't realise how sickening it would be to watch them in a tie like this though. Messi's goal almost made it worth it, but not quite.

I fucking hate Barcelona. I think even more than Real now.

I cant believe its come to wanting these fuckers to win a European cup.
Bunch o cunts.

I did find the tactical battle interesting. In classical battle terms it was like the Roman testudo (tortoise) against Mongol horsemen or something.

Of course not

It will also be interesting to see whether to UEFA ban Mourinho for the replay.

The incident with the notepad surely was illegal?

I bet they do niddles about the monkey chants.

Yeah, some east European nobodies would get a 20,000 euro fine. Madrid won't even get that.

In other news it is fucked up when Adebayor gets to claim the high moral ground against anyone:

Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor criticised Barcelona's players for overreacting to challenges after his side's 2-0 Champions League defeat.

Real's Pepe was sent off for a foul on Dani Alves in the 61st minute of an ill-tempered semi-final first leg.

But Adebayor said: "Maybe Pepe committed a foul but I don't think it was a red card.

"Whenever you play against Barca, whenever you touch them they are on the floor crying like a baby."

Real have had a man sent off in each of their four meetings with Barcelona this season, with Sergio Ramos dismissed in the 5-0 league defeat at the Nou Camp, Raul Albiol red carded in the 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu and Angel di Maria sent off for two yellow cards in Real's 1-0 Copa del Rey victory.

"Their manager, fans and the players on the bench are always crying. Barcelona is a fantastic club, fantastic players but they have to stop that."
Emmanuel Adebayor
Real Madrid striker
But Adebayor, on loan at the Madrid side from Manchester City, blamed Barcelona's players for Jose Mourinho's side's poor disciplinary record in the El Clasicos.

"I have played three games against Barcelona and each time we have had to play with 10 men," added the forward, who was himself lucky to stay on the pitch after only being booked for charging into Sergio Busquets with his hands raised.

"Everyone talks about Barcelona and their fair play but I think they are very far away from fair play.

"Whenever you make contact when going for a one-on-one or 50-50 ball they are on the floor crying, putting their hand up near their face.

"Their manager, fans and the players on the bench are always crying. Barcelona is a fantastic club, has fantastic players, but they have to stop that."

Real boss Mourinho was sent to the stands during the game for protesting about Pepe's red card.

And after the defeat at the Bernabeu, the Portuguese hit out at German referee Wolfgang Stark, Uefa and counterpart Pep Guardiola.

I saw his interview with ITV and he slagged them high and low, then, in the very next breath, said they were a great club.

And what's with the *extra from The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air* hair ?

Mourinho is the worst charachter in modern football. What a pathetic manager.

Delighted Barca won.

Ha, Cahill is friends with Pepe from Arteta's wedding I presume.

I love this fucking picture.

On a side note look at Raul in one of the picture in the original link, "Not a single fuck was given that day" springs to mind.

Haha...

Anyone but me wondered how on earth Raul can be a professional footballer with those tiny legs? He's got no apparent calf-muscles it seems.

His off field antics are sometimes laughable, you can see why the press love him. But he is not a pathetic manager. His record stands for itself....sore loser maybe, but not a pathetic manager. Ferguson would've done something similar had it been his team getting the bad calls and wenger would've too. Its just another tactic in taking the blame off their players.....just like Jose used to do at chelsea. Its the reason mourinho's players always love him, because he's always willing to stick his neck out to cover them. Wenger loves doing it to take the blame off his players but never seems to learn from it.....mourinho does. Today no one is really talking about how shit madrid were....its all about Mourinhos outburst and barcas play acting.

Maybe that link needed it's own thread, I'll let a mod decide.

It's a weird article though, was Carroll the only one having a beer or is it just better a better story to target a guy who we all know enjoys the occasional beer.

He's a great manager. But also a pathetic and negative-minded one in my opinion. Bad winner and a sore loser as you said yourself.

LAst nights game must've been awful for any Real-fans to watch. Not only did Pepe play in a more advanced role than Ronaldo they played like Wimbledon of old. Kicking and screaming and doing their utmost to ruin the game.

and it all comes down to one man. And for one Ronaldo didn't look to happy with it all.

And then afterwards he dares to blame UNICEF, UEFA, the ref and claim that Pep Guardiola has never won a 'clean ChL trophy' and that he should be - and I more or less quote - ashamed with himself for winning trophies like that.

Pathetic manager with a complete lack of respect towards others, no honor and certainly no sportsmanship. He's acting like a spoiled and unpleasant 14-year-old kid.

Hopefully Real will sack him soon enough.

He's like the anti-Kenny really.
