I wanted a midfield revamp this summer. We were out fought and over run far too often last season. Adam and Henderson weren't the players i had in mind but they'll give us great delivery and an engine in there. I now want Aquilani sold, Poulsen sold and if need be Meireles sold and a proper enforcer signed.
One, possibly two of those things will happen, but if you think we will buy a 'midfield enforcer' you're very much mistaken.
Yup, as others have said I think Kenny's central midfield will be all singing all dancing, able to get forward and able to get back, giving us flexibility and movement.
It will also mean that defenders will have to defend, so I can see a CB coming in still.
Which has been part of our problem, we have sacrificed part of out midfield to defend.

Henderson----Stevie------Adam

Would fit that way of playing.

I must admit though i still think we're missing a bit steel in the middle of the park.

I think most see the point, Miereles is more saleable , and probably for a good reason, but the point is keeping Aquilani over Ming is a risk. We know Ming is a decent player and even showed that in his first season, when a number of foreign imports take a season to settle. Aquilani while I would like to see him given a chance and believe there is a decent player in there, still has an awful lot to prove, and I just don't think this season is one to take chances, particularly when there is a fucking big question mark over Gerrards groin.
The truth is if I was going to sell anyone it would be bloody Lucas.....there I've said it

As ever...i agree with you, word for word.

I hope we can accommodate both into the squad. Both are decent players to have.

Joe Cole earns the same as these two players combined. He can piss right off.

When transfer window opened I thought, sellinbg Merieles and signing two midfielders would not be seem as priority but guess the management have decided this is the way. I don't agree with it but if proven right then fair enough but soon as our midfield looks weak and doesn't dominate games then I'm sure I won't be the only one questioning the transfer policy by Kenny and Comoli. One thing is for sure, I really don't care if Merieles can't tackle since there are plenty of players around who should be able to do that and plus out of any one in the midfield, Meireles got the ball moving and fwd. Also, Aqualani can on his day be better than Meireles?, what is there to back this up? Can't imagine Aqualini scoring that goal against Wolves or Chelsea. Anyway, guess we are at a stage with the club where I must just again trust the management they won't make the same mistakes while with Rafa. But one thing is for sure, I won't expect any loyalty from our players when the club's new selling policy doesn't show any.

Well...we haven't sold anyone yet (unfortunately).

Kenny signed Didi for Newcastle and Batty (I think, and cant be arsed checking) for Blackburn, he like a bit of steel in the midfield as much as anyone.

I won't lose any sleep if he's sold, but he did add to the team last year so we would need to pick up the slack. Aquilani can fuck off though.

I wouldn't.

Ming is one of our best players. Selling your best players isn't something that winning teams do.

Ahh welcome back Krump old chap, how is your arse? 😉

I'm riddled with all manner of broken, waiting to be evicted from this apartment in lisbon. I had am omelette about 48 hours ago. I don't know how I'm going to get on a plane

As for Ronaldo, he forced the move and it was eighty million quid. Manure did what they could to keep him but reluctantly took a world record fee. If we sell Ming for some stupid new accounting method that half of you know more about than 442 then I'll want that cunt John Henry's head on a stick

this is a weird one really , he was / is one of our better players but for me if he's not playing a defensive or central mid position then i don't see where he fits in . And it seems a fair few players are now going to be ahead of him in those positions for whatever reasons so perhaps Kenny/the club feels it's best to cash in.

But it wrecks the head to lose a player like him when poulsen , cole , aquilani and jovanocock can't be shifted .

You would never have guessed.

"@rorysmith_tel: Yep, Meireles is on his way to China with the rest of (well, most of) #LFC team. As is Comolli. My apologies. Wrong on both."

In my defence, I did say 'wasn't expected' to. Semantic, I know. All journalists get things wrong. Still wouldn't bet on him staying.

But why this is such a source of pleasure to some of you is baffling. If you hate journalists so much, why come on here and demand info?

As for the suggestion I'm out to wind up #LFC fans, or in some way destabilise the club, moronic. For a million reasons.

The summer's always tricky, and the amount of unfounded horsesh** on here/FB etc has made it harder. I'm not the Pope. I make mistakes.

But the poison, the vitriol and the schadenfreude on here are ugly and inexplicable. So you know what? For now, ya basta.

*Colombo moment* one more thing: you say journos shld be prepared for abuse. Jesus. What does that say about society? Volume > sense?

Indeed, and "well done" those knuckle-dragging dipsticks who've pissed him off enough to want to take a break.

Ah the famous RAWK 'ITK' strikes again.
Wonder was his pm box heaving and overloading.
Good to see Pacheco on the flight aswell, get the feeling this is a make or break season for Dani.

It is, unfortunately he's going away with Spain again next week, which is probably doing him no favours.

Given the type of football Kenny gets us to play and Meireles obvious abitlity to play said football i would be very very surprised if we sell him. I doubt he's a faggy as some people say and well.... I'm sure scoring some really important goals early on in Kennys tenure would have won him some brownie points.
