Masch - 7 - his best passing display in quite some time. Great assist for Torres's #2
Lucas - 7 - nice goal but he wasn't great otherwise

Benayoun - 6 - I think his best game on the left in quite some time. Nice pass to Kuyt in the build up to goal #3
Gerrard - 7 - good performance

Lucas might look like a decent player if we played a fairly flexible 433. It would suit Gerrard better too... and Aquilani, when he plays instead of Lucas.
 
Reina - 7 - Coped with the balls into the box quite well. Helpless for the goal.

Johnson - 6 - Subdued in attack as he was minding Di Maria and David Luiz.

Carragher - 6.5 - Solid.

Zorba - 7 - He's turned out to be a pretty decent signing, hasn't he? Good in the air and took no prisoners in terms of clearing the ball.

Agger - 6 - Looked reasonably comfortable out on the left. Got caught out of position on a number of occasions and didn't really get forward much. Not a long-term solution before anyone suggests it!

Kuyt - 8 - Fantastic game from Dirk today. Worked very hard and was at the heart of most of our good work in attack. Well done.

Lucas - 7 - A goal! Whatever next! Battled well in midfield and was involved in some nice moves.

Masher - 7.5 - Some absolutely suicidal passes and dribbles in the first half, but that aside a very accomplished game. Did well to escape a yellow card.

Gerrard - 6.5 - Struggled to get as involved as he'd like, but worked hard and did his job err closing down defenders and what not.

Yossi - 6.5 - A lot better than most of his games on the left, but still not as good as he'd be on the opposite flank. Looked very tired towards the end.

Torres - 8 - Two more goals to add to his collection. Nice.

We destroyed the form team in Europe. Unbeaten in 27 games they concede every other game, they score 2 a game, theyve already won their league and we carved em to bits again and again.

Still not a 9. It's a sad indication of how shit we've been that such a slightly above average performance is lauded so much. A 9 used to mean near perfection. Now it means better than shit.
 
If you say so. It's even sadder when a player who puts in a great performance doesn't get the credit for it as well. I'm off the bed now. Drinking and losing of money to be done tomorrow.
 
I think it's all been said a good all round display.
I have to say I thought the scoreline might have flattered us a little, we did not get a look in for the first twenty minutes, when they could have caused us some damage.

Just some comments really

Torres ...Oncey touched on it, it's the mark of a great player, you can play largely crap for most of the game, but clatter in two goals. THAT is why most of us were really pissed off about Birmingham.
Mascher....I never have brought this business about he can't pass, but he always cares
Kyriakos....Like Maxi a good plus from a largely crap season
Dirk...Not a great fan of deadly's , but credit where it is due, not only did we get the usual work ethic, we saw some skill and some brains, and an extra half yard of pace
Lucas....Now I usually agree with Oncey all the time, I am not going to disagree hugely with him on this , I think it was one of his better displays, and he took his goal well and put in some decent tackles, but for most of the first half I thought the game passed him by. The goal seemed to spark him into life. I might start to think that he actually does have some Brazilian blood in him
Agger did OK as a stand in
Yossi made the best of his least favourite position

I am not becoming blinded , I think he did OK, I really do, but not as well as you think he did.
I said I think the game passed him by a bit up until his goal, and your stats sort of back that up. In the first half hour of the game he was involved thirteen times, not a lot for a holding midfield player whose team were under the cosh for much of that time.
For the remaining fifteen minutes of the half he was involved as much as the first half hour, thirteen times.
