Good job you didn't. You'd have been seeing Suarez score three of those goals and it would have hurt.
I was just thinking that. I'm in a weird place in that I'm delighted for him. I have no anomosity towards him at all and genuinely wish every him success. (except in the unlikey event he plays against us anytime soon) - I've never felt that towards any ex-player. Huh 😕 I turn 40 next week JJ so maybe I'm getting soft in my old age!

I'll drink to that. Possibly the most extravagantly talented individual I've ever seen in Liverpool red, and one who never gave less than everything while wearing the shirt, even if mad as a box of frogs.
I prefer 'Nuttier than squirrel poo' but both work. The guy was a class apart.

Is this for real? Against one of the poorest defences in the league and at home, I thought he struggled. Understand the need to support a player but going OTT really undermines someone's credibility.

The manager opted to hand Lambert his 11th start for the club, fielding him from the beginning for the first time since the FA Cup victory over AFC Wimbledon in January.
Rodgers was pleased with the forward's contribution throughout the game, especially after watching the No.9 find space inside the penalty area and pick out Coutinho for the opening goal.
"I thought he was excellent," said the Northern Irishman. "He had a good run and made an excellent pass to set up young Coutinho for the first goal.
"We needed that physicality at the top of the field to hold the ball up for us today and I thought he competed very well with the two centre-halves, who were very strong. I thought he did very, very well."

I thought he was one of our better players today. I wouldn't be using the word excellent but he was decent.

I thought he was at least decent.

He looked sharper & fitter than previously, but he still can't play the way we need a striker to play.

We need pace & running to stretch the play, he can only provide the running.

Another exasperating performance, full of weird little vignettes that symbolised the nuttiness of many players. Take, for example, the moment in the second half when Hendo and Can and a couple of other players resorted to head tennis instead of bringing the ball down - they just kept heading it to each other until they lost it. Really maddening. Maybe they all bang their heads on a wall before they come out. Still, a valuable win, potentially.

Yeah an honouable mention for Lallana. I really do think he's class. He'll be mint next season I think.
I think he will struggle to get a game. I would hope to see a front four of Sturridge, sterling, coutinho and ibe. Lallana for me is behind those lot, he slows out game down too much.

I fucking hate when Rodgers says "young Coutinho".

I've no idea why it grates so much, but it does.

He does it alot doesn't he? "Young Raheem". "Young Jordan Ibe". I know he wants to emphasise they are still learning the game but still, we know how young they are Brendan!

I didn't think he was poor by any means, he might not be the forward we need, but he battled and held it up well, worked the keeper a couple of times and got an assist. Much improved and certainly better than anything that other lazy fucker has offered.

Excellent is going OTT, agreed, but it's only what any other manager would do when a fringe player has a positive game, it's just a way of boosting confidence. Bit late after leaving him languishing on the bench for the entire season, but anyway.

On the whole, I'd much rather our manager stayed mute in interviews. Maybe just do some shadow puppets or something.
