I saw a stat the other, don't know how accurate it is, that stated 2.3 places is the average position lost on the previous season for any PL team playing in the EL ... except for Liverpool who are the exception.

Yep. We've all said it for years, with his height and prowess it should have spent years under those high balls, not being the one lobbing them in.
I suspect at least some of those managers knew the situation perfectly well, but were scared to put his nose out of joint by telling him not to take them.
It wouldn't just have been goals from inside the box either. He'd have scored a fair few screamers shooting from the edge of the box or just outside it.

Skrtel - 7 - I wish his head wasn't shaped like a sixpence or threepence .......
Can - 6 - better going forward, really want to see him in MF next season
Henderson - 6.5 - one stupendous cross aside he had a(nother) quiet one.
Gerrard - 7 - I am really going to miss the class he brings to the game, even when he's not Mr. Fantastic. On the ball, one or two touch passing (even if not always accurate now) gets us moving faster than a Henderson+Allen MF. Probably Can could play that part next season with his excellent technique, once he's learnt the positional side. Great goal !
Coutinho - 6.5 - a little bit average for him despite another lovely goal. Our Little Magician !
Sterling - 4 - horrendous miss (again) and I think it was only the one time he actually got past his marker. He really is playing poorly and it should have been him, not Lallana, that was pulled. BR bottling it.
Lallana - 6.5 - not his best game but we look far more creative and incisive when he's on the pitch.
Lambert - 6.5 - A good CF's game, lovely assist - it wasn't the obvious pass by far.
Ibe - 7 - yet again in just a few mins he shows how to go past people and how to pass/deliver into the box. Good defensive work too.
Markovic - N/A

I know he only played 25+ minutes but I thought Ibe looked class. Really class. Went past people with ease. Nice link up play and suckered that dude into the red card. Sterling who?

That sub should've been Ibe for Sterling - Lallana was the one who was pressing the hardest for us all game and was playing well too. Thought it wasn't fair that he was the one who got hooked, well, unless Rodgers was being careful with Lallana's groin. Mm hmm.
That Henderson diagonal cross is turning out into some weapon, isn't it? If only we had Ryan Kent at the far post instead. 😉 When Sterling looked up and uttered "Oh my God..." after his miss, I was thinking, "He deserted you after you got greedy!".
Yeah an honouable mention for Lallana. I really do think he's class. He'll be mint next season I think.
Lovren was a 6,5 for me mate. Had a good solid game.
It was quite feisty at times and Lovren got into a fair few tangles that he dealt with nicely. Good signs.
Yeah he was OK, I may have marked him ½ point low but that was a ridiculous tackle for his Yellow, he and Skrtel contrived to fuck up in the corner, both CBs were absent for the goal and there was an equally poor header in there too.
His improvement's been one of not many hopeful signs at the fag end of this season. Apart from being valuable in its own right, it means one player fewer needing replacement in the summer. It also says something for his character that he's fought back in this way.
Good job you didn't. You'd have been seeing Suarez score three of those goals and it would have hurt.
