Prem eras biggest flops (last 10 years)

Is this a good place to talk about Pogba? He might’ve had good spells but he left United twice for free and they paid a fortune in fees and wages for him.

And he’s just been banned for 4 years…

Keita was obviously a flop. He may have had the odd decent game and scored the odd decent goal, but the majority of those on this list would have done.

For £50+ million you'd have to expect a little more than that.

Thats championship level chicken right there. Nothing to be sniffed at

Going to have to disagree there, I’m not bothering with anything under 4 stars. It’s like movies on imdb where anything under 7 is shite.

Massimo Taibi & Mark Bosnich are 2 of my favourites ever

Why only 10 yrs?

People can decide for themselves how they characterise a flop.

Because then people will be talking about Andy Carroll, Aquaman Balllotelli etc... I really don't want to remember all the bad signings

If we’re talking flops, there should be a separate category for objectively good players who didn’t succeed in the EPL because they were misunderstood/misused. I just saw some stats about our friend Yago Aspas scoring his 200th goal in La Liga - one of very few non-Real/Barca players to achieve this milestone. Consistent goalscorer, leader and captain - but he came to us at a wrong time.

I’m convinced Firmino would have joined the same category had Rodgers remained as manager.

I was gonna say, Di Maria belongs in that sort of category. He was a very good player, had one unhappy season and they more or less got their money back from PSG.

The fact that so many of their post Ferguson big money signings have been mentioned in this thread says a lot.

Yeah, Di Maria was an absolutely boss player throughout his career, except for the stint at United. A workhorse and team player in addition to his talent.

Depay was another United flop that was actually good, but misunderstood.

The thread title is upsetting my OCD - "Prem era" and "last 10 years" are not a literal contradiction but, at best, the former is completely superfluous while, at worst, the contraction is there by implication.

Anyway - Sally Gunnel

Antony, Pogba, Mudryk, Sancho, Werner. Pepe is on the list given his fee but he actually scored 30 goals in 110 games but Arsenal just decided not to use him much.
Chelsea and Utd have got this covered in all honesty.

The biggest flop in the PL (player and manager) is obviously Ange. Despite being the bestest manager in the whole World of football he hasnt won a trophy yet. Oh wait. He won an award at the London football awards last night.
Thats Spurs and him covered for the next 5 years. Nevermind.

Stanley Mathews - done fuck all in the last 10 years despite being fitter than Thiago & Keita.

Bacon face started the rot with Veron

Maguire's clearly not worth 75M but he's had some good games.

The likes of Antony, Mudryk, Sancho, most of Chelsea's squad etc., they're not just terrible signings, they're shit players.

Enzo and Caicedo for 220M is terrible business. Lavia 50M. Thank fuck we were gazumped.

Keita was 50M+ let's not think we're exempt, he was log.

I just Wiki'd Pogba.

4 Serie A's, 2 Coppa Italia's, Europa League, League Cup, World Cup, Nations Cup winner etc.

Probably earned hundreds of millions.

Quick question - Has anyone ever seen him have a good game?

Pogba was brilliant in his first few years at Utd off the back of being incredible throughout his first spell at Juve, maybe even establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in the world. The guys had a great career which could’ve been even greater.
