because despite his cautious nature I still think (probably foolishly) he will turn things around, based on observations at liverpool and valencia, having said that if he were removed I would meet it with a 'meh' rather than a tear.

A number of things to be honest, injuries, main players not playing well, the loss of Alonso and Sami, and lack of funding to build on last season, i think we have actually spent less since last season than we have sold

I agree with Neil. Yes we won there last season using the same tactics but I think in the main you've got a better chance if you have a go at them. Most sides who win at Old Trafford do so by attacking them, not sitting there hoping to grab a 1-0.

its like someone said in the 'how to tackle manu' thread, inviting manu onto us is asking for trouble, on the other hand they have rio recently back from injury, vidic PATENTLY terrified of torres and THE slowest fullback in the league and did we test them? did we run at them? ffs, so fucking frustrating. babel made ONE RUN today and it cut through the manu defense for the first time when we should have been attempting that all game. too fucking easy for manu.

And Tevez. So they lost Ronaldo and Tevez and replaced them with Owen and Valencia. We lost Alonso and Arbeloa and replaced them with Johnson and Aquilani. I wouldn't exactly say that we'd become much weaker than them. More the other way round.
 
liverpool last season v chelsea in the CL away game, sure I was disappointed but at least the boys had a fucking go, how can you complain when your team gives all it has? we were scared to go at them instead seeking to defend a deficit (what the fuck is THAT about?!).

totally agree. our plan was to keep it tight and nick a goal, all well and good at the start of the season but in our 'win or bust' situation you would have expected a little more adventure.

That does hold some water, but they had the option of moving a world class player in Rooney back to a chosen position, instead of out wide on the left. There was a small risk he wouldn't flourish but it was one that's paid off handsomely for Ferguson.
