Pre Match Pre Match - Man City (H) - Sun 16:00

More likely trent at RB as he was on the bench
Considering Slot said he wouldn’t be used against Real unless absolutely necessary I doubt he’d ready to start. Come on with 20 to go is the go. Starting runs the risk of injury which is our biggest rival right now.

I'd start with Szoboszlai, Citeh don't play well against energetic midfields.

It isn't like CJ is a slug or something. Slobby hasn't looked as dangerous and penetrating as CuJo. Lets not worry about City, lets put out a team to smash them.
He does tend to hog the ball and slow play down at times.

Did you watch him last night? This hogging the ball stuff is old news. Slobby's passing has been wasteful and he looks low in confidence. CJ is flying.

Thought Szobo has been flying for the last two games as well. Good thing to have both.

Trent & Gomez as RB and RCB can work pretty well, Gomez will be able to better cover any space behind Trent left for counter attacks. However Doku is injured so City unlikely to have any pacey players to run in behind as Haaland doesn't do that much, neither do Grealish, Bernardo, Savinho or Foden.

Really was unnecessary for that mopy haired Endprick to do anything but foul Konate last night. Pointless cameo from him.
Pity Bradley is injured again, every time he gets a run then picks something up.

Slot also said he COULD play vs Real Madrid if required. So he was fit to start and has only been out for a couple of games. He'll start vs City - biggest match of the season so far.

Darwin actually played pretty well, I would like to see him terrorising some of the City defenders before we bring on the dutch robot in the second half.

Kelleher with 3 peno saves in 14 days deserves to keep his spot for this game but if Ali is fit I would be hard pressed to not play him.

Threat level highest for Guardiola

Arne Slot has brought the Midas touch to Liverpool but, of all the accomplishments in his remarkable start, none would surpass the likelihood of releasing Manchester City’s four-year grip on the Premier League title on the first day of December. The prospect of going 11 points clear of the champions with an 18th win in 20 matches under Slot makes this a hugely anticipated and consequential moment for Liverpool. Yet the stakes are even higher for City. Five defeats in six games and a late collapse to draw against Slot’s former club Feyenoord have drained belief from Pep Guardiola’s players. Without Rodri they appear as fragile as Liverpool were in the aftermath of losing Virgil van Dijk to a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury in 2020. Josko Gvardiol’s error-strewn performances are an added problem for Guardiola, who must decide whether to risk playing the Croatian against Mohamed Salah. City’s famed powers of recovery are merely an illusion at present. They must rediscover them at Anfield, where Guardiola has never won in front of a crowd. Andy Hunter

My only concern with putting Ali straight in is whether he is sharp enough for playing out from the back. The team have gelled with Queevin, and moving to a GK who will have difference preferences for where he stands, which foot and where to pass the ball etc could bring some rustiness to our play

He’d probably jar his knee and be out for 6 weeks.
