Seems daft to do that, especially when links to Bellingham are so credible.
Is it though? I mean if Trent wants to be a midfielder, playing him on the right of a midfield three seems like the best way to use his strengths.
I'm not saying that he's going to be played in midfield this season. But in the future he might be a utility like Milner. RB being his natural position, but deputising in midfield when needed.
There's room for Bellingham in our midfield, considering the age of our midfielders.

As a stop gap, maybe, but I don't think klopp would overly want to do that.
Depends on the long term vision for Fabio and Elliott too though. I think Elliott is nailed on for the RCM slot, and Bellingham for the left (should we get him). Fabio probably at LW.

I just think all Trent will do is drift to the RCM slot in attacks, with fab or hendo dropping back

We do need more through balls from central midfield for Nunez to run onto. They also managed to get Gomez to sign a new contract despite him wanting first team football and there being no obvious way into the team. I wouldn't be surprised if we tried it against the relegation fodder

Núñez ready to go for Liverpool

Darwin Núñez does not look as if he needs to be eased in. The Uruguay forward started on the bench when Liverpool beat City in the Community Shield last weekend, but he appeared to be on the same wavelength as his new teammates after coming on in the second half. The runs were intelligent and effective, the link play was smart and there were signs of an understanding with Mohamed Salah, who was involved when Núñez scored his first Liverpool goal with a brave header. The question is whether Klopp decides to play the former Benfica striker when Liverpool visit Fulham on Saturday. Is there anything to gain from holding the 23-year-old back and playing Roberto Firmino through the middle instead? Firmino is an excellent, subtle player, but Fulham’s defenders must be dreading the thought of trying to keep Núñez quiet.

First guardian things to look out for this weekend.

I'd start him, but I strongly suspect he'll start from the bench. Being a sub mitigates the pressure he might feel and will mean he's just eager to get out onto the pitch. I think he'll be introduced about 65 mins and he'll score. Maybe 2.

I think he'll start. Fulham are perfect for him, a team that likes to play on the front foot leaving gaps behind.

If we sign a tall striker and then Trent goes to cm I don't understand this game. We've been trying this for months now within games and while it creates heaps of space on the right, Trent all of a sudden isn't there to exploit it. I don't get what the end game is. Maybe Harvey does that work.

I think Nunez will get more assists from Robbo than Trent. Roberson will have someone at the end of his runs to the by line.

I remember Klopp saying quite vividly back end of last season it wouldn't make sense to move 1 of the best RB in world football into midfield after Gareth Boregate had spoken about it.

I don't think we would have sold Neco if the plan was to move Trent to CM, unless we're suddenly going to see Gomez starting at RB. If we're going to put a more attacking threat in midfield over Hendo i'd rather see Elliot in there.

Only thing I could see changing Klopp's mind is that Trent is showing he has great shooting ability from around the edge of the box and maybe that is something we need to add to our game.

Anyone got the scm fpl league code? I didn’t bother playing last year and I’m not in some of the leagues any more

Konate is out isn't he? What's the point of playing Gomez at RB if it's unnecessary? I am ok with Milly playing at RB but it's weird moving an established RB to MF and an established MF to RB.

Honestly, the worst thing about Trent being so good, yet still so young, is that I'm going to keep reading this ridiculous debate about moving him into midfield for the next decade. You don't move the best player in the world in their position, from their position, its simple.

The nerves are building. I mean, if I could handpick a fixture to start with, this would be it, but still have that wonderful feeling of butterflies that comes on a Liverpool match day.

Not to be argumentative for the sake of it, but wouldn't you rather play them at home? 🙂
