In fairness, I think Lucas could be better at that midfield anchor role than Can, even if he won't provide anything like the defensive cover Hendo gives us in the position. I think this team looks quite well balanced.

Origi is good for running & reducing the opposition defence energy, but not as an out & out striker every match.

Sturridge doesn't do enough work tracking back to make him an automatic inclusion for every game considering the way we try to play.

As such I'm not surprised he chops & changes between them.

The inclusion of sturridge from the start suggests Klopp may be hoping to get early goals rather than late in this match, otherwise you'd start Origi then bring Sturridge on against tired legs.

Ah yes, I had forgotten it was set in stone that the number 2 keeper must start in all cup games.

I Stewart would be better still .... I'd love to know why Klopp doesn't seem to want him to start though.
