Cou and Lallana both missing is half of our creativity gone from the team. I'm still not convinced by wijnaldum yet personally and Sturridge is shit at closing down from the front.

Agree with the first part, also Wijnaldum could do more but I think he's been good. He does have two assists and a goal.
You're also right about Sturridge.

I guess quite a few top six teams would be happy to field Firmino- Mane- Wijnaldum and Studge as an attacking front. I am 100% sure that all top six teams would be happy to have Klopp-Buvac-Krawietz on the bench!

My Dear 6CM'ers

We are about to enter a long period of pure football at this club with no international breaks until March as I understand it. I told @FoxForceFive a couple of months ago that this whole season was going to be one crazy ride and I am going to love it. Klopp just inspires me with his enthusiasm and it resonates to the team so well - that these days I just want the week to go fast so that the next game can be played. Despite our position and doing really well - I still don't know what to expect from game to game other than knowing the following:-

1) We take the game to the opposition - home or away - we don't give a fuck.
2) We create chances and we have the ball more than the other team

Just knowing that the above will happen takes all the stress out of the game for me - and I agree 100% with Klopp in that the best way to defend is not to let the opposition have the ball (something like that anyway). Later this day - the games and a possible sustained title challenge will begin - it's going to fucking great I tell you fuckers - it's just going to be great no matter who plays. I am hoping we can win the game given that we have had a pointless extra international break week - and my predictions are as follows:-

1-1

1-3

2 - 7 to us - and expecting a Studge hatrick (someone will from our team anyway).

Enjoy it all of you - I really hope this will be a history making season for us.

I think that Wijnaldum has deliberately been instructed to be more reserved and hold back from surging forward - we have enough players up there and his main job has been as the midfield fulcrum and to engage the press and act as first line of defence if the attack breaks down. It isn' that he can't play the 'Lallana' role' behind the front three, as I'm sure he can, though maybe with a tad less creativity but better passing.

Yeah well, a pass has to come from somewhere and without Lallana and Coutinho that's us without 10 of our 23 assists this season in the league.
That's because they've been in the attack and part of the team all season ! Who knows what other players might do / have done given that game time in attack. It's impossible to say 10 assists vs. 1 against say Wijnaldum + Grujic if they haven't been played the same way with the same game time. I'm not for one moment suggesting they would have emulated Lallana+Coutinho just that you can't compare or say we've just lost half of our creativity.

This game is a real litmus test of our title credentials I reckon. Away from home after the disruption of the international break with a reshuffle of the attacking line up against a team in a poor run of form who aren't fancied, it's tailor-made for us to mm slip up if we aren't 100% focused. I think we grind out a 2-1 win after a bit of a nail biter.

I'm pretty sure we'll only draw today, but as I said before, objectively it's not that bad a result.

It's revisionist bollocks to blame Sakho for Gerrard's slip - it was all on Gerrard, as he admitted it was such an easy pass he took his eye off it to look up.

It's not really, Sakho doesn't look either, otherwise he'd have seen that Gerrard was already getting closed and had nowhere to go other than back to Sakho, he did it loads when he played, constantly playing the ball into the most vulnerable postioned player.

Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic is available to play despite breaking his nose while on international duty.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Fraser Forster are fit after knocks, but Cedric Soares, James Ward-Prowse, Ryan Bertrand and Shane Long are doubtful.
Liverpool are assessing the fitness of Adam Lallana after he sustained an injury while playing for England.
Philippe Coutinho is also a doubt with a hamstring problem but Dejan Lovren returns after recovering from a virus.

He wasn't getting closed down though - watch again, Hasselbaink Ba was already moving away from Gerrard and changed direction once he slipped.

EDIT - oh you can't see it clearly on that clip but anyway he was moving off to close down the LB when the slip happened.
