I'm not on Twitter but couldn't Karius just disable the comments or something? It's just too predictable he would be getting that kind of shit on his social media after last night.

Ramos is probably getting something similar I suspect.

I think he has now, I'm not Twitter savvy but I can't view his replies now at least.

Ramos wouldn’t give a flying fuck.

That’s why I said prematch I want Can to come on and karate kick him in the throat. He’s always been a cunt and refs seem to let him off the majority of the time.

I'm still numb.

We didn't deserve to win but we weren't outplayed. Our keeper cost us the game, and Bale scored the kind of goal that shows their world class ability.

If we buy some amazing players, keep all our good ones, and learn from this season, we'll get there eventually.

It's shit, but it shows Madrid are no fluke, and they've Sevilla'd the fuck out of the CL.

And yeah, fuck Ramos, but if one of our players did that I'd be delighted.

Anyway, when we scored hundreds of people went absolutely batshit. The whole city was incredible. I want that again. I want us to be there next year. When Liverpool are good the city is good.

My highlight of yesterday was getting hundreds of people to do a Maggie's in the mud chant, after Mane's goal anyway.

Oh,and I hope Dreambeliever cashed something out

Im not sure what it tells us though, that hes predictable tactically and gets out foxed in big games, that hes unlucky, that hes over achieved simply by getting his teams into the finals, that he and his teams are brittle mentaly? You could make an argument for any of the above

I’m not sure either mate, but I’m not buying that he’s unlucky.

There is SOMETHING wrong if you’ve failed in 6 finals, what I don’t know, could be some of your points but he’s failed 6 times at the last hurdle, if I kept of failing I’d probably try and do something different.

Just look at his opponents in those finals. Without looking it up I will guess only Sevilla is the only final where his team was the strongest and most expensive.

Yeah and I could understand that if he’d lost 3/4, a final is a one off game, anything can happen. The strongest most expensive team doesn’t always necessarily win.

There’s a knack to winning finals and Klopp has lost his last 6.

I think it was taken out of his hands a bit, though Karius can be fully attributed to him (he signed him, obv), I don't think you can account for the colossal meltdown he had, or for Salah's injury, Bale's brilliance, etc.

We did a lot of good things, and Mane was a big plus. I just don't think he's a very good "in game" manager, I've said it since the Villarreal away game a couple of years ago, when they didn't turn up and he had the opportunity to go on the offensive and get a couple of away goals, but instead he hesitated and didn't change a thing. We got through the tie, but they were much better at Anfield and it was more of a task than it should have been.

He doesn't seem to change anything until specific times (usually halftime and/or 70+ minutes). It's that sort of stubbornness that cost his predecessors their jobs eventually.

Klopp has to sign a keeper of similar standing to VVD, Keita and our front three.

It makes no sense whatsoever to regard the goalkeeper position as less important...because that’s what’s happening. Would we accept having Ings or Solanke as first choice striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation for an entire season ? Like hell. Klopp was more aware of defensive issues when winning trophies at Dortmund and is now 0 from 6 playing a more expansive, open style.

Sign a bloody good goalkeeper, Jurgen.

Midfield weaknesses were exploited by Real yesterday and we need another to compliment the incoming Keita; not replacing Coutinho has left us at the business end of the season without sufficient quality on the bench to replace one of our forwards.

Some of these issues have been affecting our results for years now - important summer ahead...again.

I dont think you can convincingly hold this view, until he has a strong bench.

On another day, we could have won it.
But all in all, this team is not yet the finished article, and you could say we got to the final a bit too soon.
So, I am not too down, even if Real was there for the taking.

I was disappointed with out reaction after Salah went off. Mentally, it is of course a major blow. But where was the in game management?

We sat back, which negates the whole point of our pressing style, and they played around us in nice triangles when we tried to press sporadically, emptying our energy, with little to show for it. This also made our midfield look more shit than they are, being caught in between all the time, or losing the ball when pressurised as they are not so skillful. And with three out of our back four actually able to play a high line as they have some pace, we could have held a higher line. This gave them the initiative, and as Klopp said himself, we could not get to Modric and Kroos anymore.

We have some lacks in our spine, and squad-wise.
Four top players are needed.
One top centre back to replace Lovren, one consistently top keeper of course, one central midfielder who can dictate the game and it would not hurt if he was a fuckin brickhouse enforcer too, and a super-talent of a striker/winger to rotate with our three up front.

I thought TAA would be our weak-spot, but credit to him. He played like a seasoned player. Mane was ace, as was the back four.

I wanted solanke to come on instead of Lallana & said as much at the time.

Me to. I understand why he put lallana on but solanke would have been the better option. I just wonder if he did not play him in case his inexperience would have been used by Ramos to try getting him sent off.

Solanke would have done fuck all. Our bench was shit.
Straight tactics more important.
So it would have been no different, as lallana did fuck all too

Think he would have done a bit more as he was at least fitter

Yeah, who knows.
I just don't think he has much to offer, so I don't get these shouts for him.

We know what has to be done - last night we received, more definitively, answers to the questions on how we progress.

1. Keeper - I didn’t think this was the highest priority - it is now. The change has to be made.

2. CB - I thought Lovren was excellent - I’d downgrade the importance of another CB.

3. Captain - for me, VVD has to be given the role next season.

4. Henderson - still has a role to play - but not as captain and certainly not as first choice.

5. The Squad - I don’t subscribe to the theory that we should be moving on too many people - Squad needs to grow - for everyone we sell, we need a replacement and we need additions as well. Let’s add 5 quality players to the squad and keep what we have. The two that I’d probably let go are Lallana & Mingolet. Ings will probably go and a few on loan will depart (Markovic & Origi).

6. Which positions to buy for - Keita is a replacement for Can - so in and out there. Keeper & Lallana replacement (advanced attacking midfielder).

2 more for the forward line (one that can play central, one that can operate wide or play across the entire front 3).

1 for the midfield line (one that can operate as a playmaker from deep).

So that’s 5 coming in - can it be done for £200m?

Absolutely - if we’re smart - the three key players are Keeper, attacking mid and attacking wide player.

That, and bringing on a few of the kids will make a huge difference.

I'm excited for the future ... The manager is all in, the players are all in too and there's hopefully something magical happening that we will actually get over that hill. Ged was close, so was Rafa, Rodgers too ... It's time.

Last night doesn't hurt as much as I would have thought it should.
Maybe I'm getting old.
Maybe it's watching the game with my son and him being so aware and so into the game.
Maybe it's because with this manager, and the right buys, this club is on a trajectory.

Let's not cock this one up ... we go again. No slipping this time.

I’m not too sure about the end of your post. Is that intentional?

Well ... I feel that in Klopp's term, where in a similar place ... we can do something special, and only we can fuck it up ... I just hope the club push through this time.

(no disrespect meant to stevie g)

No no no regarding Lovren. He has all thr natural ability in the world. And when it clicks, he borders on brilliant.

Problem is, it only clicks 70% of the time.

Some people say Karius almost cost us vs City. Lets not forget Lovrens brain fart vs Roma at 5-0 up.

He has that in his locker. Always.

Third choice at best for me.

Otherwise agree witj majority of your post.
