I think it was taken out of his hands a bit, though Karius can be fully attributed to him (he signed him, obv), I don't think you can account for the colossal meltdown he had, or for Salah's sending off, Bale's brilliance, etc.
We did a lot of good things, and Mane was a big plus. I just don't think he's a very good "in game" manager, I've said it since the Villarreal away game a couple of years ago, when they didn't turn up and he had the opportunity to go on the offensive and get a couple of away goals, but instead he hesitated and didn't change a thing. We got through the tie, but they were much better at Anfield and it was more of a task than it should have been.
He doesn't seem to change anything until specific times (usually halftime and/or 70+ minutes). It's that sort of stubbornness that cost his predecessors their jobs eventually.
